you are basing your standards on what you would pay on 2007 figures, you need to think 2009 figures...

2005 Mustang GT Coupe - 24,995 to 28,745 Fully loaded
Prices have gone up around 1000 bucks a year , the 2008 Mustang GT is now 31,845 fully loaded.

Now looking back at the LS2 2006 GTO, Price Tag of 34,000 loaded, and ok Pontiac tends to cost a bit more than Chevy, but the LS2 is a more expensive engine than the Modular 4.6 and the start up cost and import fees on the Zeta frame will boost the price. I would prefer that the camaro cost a bit more so that GM does not skimp on quality to try to bring it in around 30K I am expecting to pay closer to 35K easy in 2009, and don't forget that Stealer Markups that will be going on, you will see 5-10K over MSRP for the first year.

I would like to see a stripped V8 model with the 6.0 (not ls2 but the other one, L76?). That way it would be cheaper.

So:
No options
detuned 6.0 ~376 HP
Cheaper insurance and price
Then I can mod it at my leasure

Bob Lutz said that the base V8's should cap at around 30,000. So I'm willing to spend about that much - whether or not what he says comes true.

Comparable Pricing

The 06 GTO was priced at $30,000 from dealers in the St. Louis area so unless the car is built with better engine and more horse power than a stock GTO I would be willing to give that much. Now if they were to build the car so that I can boast that my car has more stock hp than my boyfriends GTO off the floor then I would be willing to go a bit higher. I definte breaker for me is if they build it the same way that they did with the 02; the engine halfway into the passanger compartment. I really dont want to tear the car apart to change the oil.

I think i'm looking in the $42k - $45k region for the top spec... but could go over $46k ... depending on what's on the options list

How much is too much?

My wife and I were also talking about the Camaro the other night. I have heard that a base with a V6 will start in the mid 20K, and a well equiped V8 will be high 20K to low 30K. If it is an all option car expect to pay around 35K. This is what I have heard and it makes sense to me. GM wont want to over price this car. They want them on the street and in large numbers. Mustangs beware!

I think its going to be cheaper than most think. Don't forget, their going to have to compete with the Mustang.

Well the Canadian dollar is almost the same as US but the problem is the prices of cars here are higher than US so I probably will end up spending about 50 Gz for this damn car

Every Ford dealer in Los Angeles wants over $35,000 for mustang gt's. I don't expect to see V-8 Camaros for any less.
