I have a '23 Camaro LT1 and I want to get wider wheels in the future. I wanted to go with a 285 square setup, but many are recommending a staggered setup.


What are your thoughts on these wheels which go 20x10 front and 20x11 rear. I'm also considering putting on Continental DWS06 Plus (tires are 100% decided on). Would tire rubbing be a concern? I hear so much about it and I'm worried about that.


Also, any downsides to such wide tires? This car is my daily driver and I'm wondering if this could potentially be less comfortable or more.

I recommend staggered from what I researched - and should be no concern with rubbing as long as you stay close to current tire diameter or somewhat smaller.

And I should say that for those 20 x 10 and 20 x 11 wheel sizes everyone likes and recommends the SS 1LE wheels that look great and you can get MMR 017 replica's of them for about $1,500-$1,600.
Most also go with that SS 1LE tire sizes of 285/30/20 front and 305/30/20 rear tire sizes with those as well. I am considering splurging on those MMR 017 wheels w/set of summer perf tires in the spring. If I do go for them, I am planning to go with 265/35/20 in the front as it stays closer to the original tire diameter (-1.4% instead of -3.6%), closer to the tire diameter of the 305/30/20 rear wheels, and I think 265 will be wide enough in front for me as mine is DD (I'll just have a more staggered setup).

I see. It appears that 275/35R20 and 305/30R20 would work for me with DWS06 Plus. Tirerack states that the diameter of the stock Goodyear A/S runflats are 27.7" and DWS06 Plus even in those sizes is a little under (27.6" front and 27.2" rear)


actually thinking about it, would it be bad to have the front just .4" more than rear?

Note - I haven't tried these wider sizes myself yet (I am currently on the 275/35/20 rears as per my signature), so good idea for you to chat with tirerack advisor, and/or hear from others that have on this forum.

That said - my goal was to keep w/in 1-2% of LT1 stock 245/40/20 of 27.7" and to keep front and rear tire size close to each other (as LT1 didn't come with smaller fronts like the 1LE).
So my logic/thinking was:
* Go with 305/30/20 rear tire size that SS 1LE uses that matches the 11" 1LE rear wheel and is within -1.8% of stock size. [Going to 315/30/20 would come closer on tire diameter but their isn't much tire choice in that size and it seemed too much to me to run wider than 1LE tires on LT1.]
* Then going with 265/35/20 at -1.4% from stock size to better match the size of those rear tires better than going with 275/35/20 that match original size better but would be taller than the new rear tires.
[and by staying with slightly taller front tire than 1LE 285/30/20 it will not shrink the sidewall as much]
* The tradeoff/downside to this combo is it has more stagger (fronts are 40mm narrower than rear tires) than the standard staggers of SS/1LE/ZLE that have 30mm or 20mm, but I don't think this will be an issue for my LT1 use as DD.

I see. Tirerack couldn't tell me much other than they limit up to 275 for the LT1 models, but recommended me to check automotive forums and see what they say. Will see if anyone has any experience with what I'm planning to do.



It doesn't hurt much to not go as wide in the fronts though I am definitely considering 275. My father's C8 Corvette came 305 rears (20 inch) and 245 fronts (19 inch) and it seems to handle quite well.

I have the square setup with Firehawk Indy 500s in 285/30/20 on them. No tire rubbing, much more comfy than stock. Highly recommend.
