Inertia dynos are remarkebly consistent and accurate. They are based off the laws of physics.

Unlike a Mustang dyno operated by some idiot that couldn't operate a cash register at McDonalds. The operator has to make inputs such as the weight of the car. It is on Mustang dynos that I have seen numbers all over the place.

Just keep thinking that GT500 is 662 HP. We will see 700 HP times turned in on this car. It will run 10's with just slicks.

Please, go look up SAE Certified. The Ford GT was not - the GT500 is. As for Dyno's....holy cow....dude, they are a tuning tool, and when used for their primary purpose (tuning), the Mustang dyno is actually more useful than inertia dynos.

Finally....accurately calculating BHP off of RWHP is simply not possible. Way too many variables.

This arguing about crank HP is pointless, because the point is that REGARDLESS of WHY it happens (whether it's under rated at the crank, or just has a far more efficient drivetrain, or a combination of both), the GT500 looks like its making far more at the wheels than you would expect. It's rated at 82 HP more than the ZL1, so you'd expect it to make around 70 more at the wheels, but it looks like the average dynos of both put it at more like 100 more at the wheels.

Or its just more efficient due to the irs on the Zl1.

In the end who cares about what a car is rated at, the end product is all that matters, and for the most part the GT500 is anywhere from .5 to 1 second faster in the quarter. Or in other words a Millenium Falcon's worth.

Rumor has it the GT500 can make the Kessel run in less than 12 parsecs. No way the ZL1 can compete.

I am more impressed by the low driveline loss in the GT500 that the big number. Thinking of a one-pice CF driveshaft to go with much lighter wheel on my car.

The higher dyno numbers are due to the final drive ....short gears dyno lower...
Look at mmandff ...when they go from say a 3.31 to 4.10 they usually lose 20-30 whp (when dynoed in the same 1.00 gear)...

So you have it :
Zl1 final drive: 3.73
2013 gt50: 3.31

Primary gears are also longer on the gt500...so

i understand that you lose a few hp due to gears, but never to the extent of 20-30rwhp

how do you explain the zr1 dynoing only 530-550rwhp with 3.42's?

Just did my initial detail (a week after getting it) and it turned out pretty good.

Pictures aren't the best, but still pretty good.

...if you want to compare performance numbers, well, the GT500 retains it's title of the highest hp, worst performing car in the world.

^^^Car looks great man!

Now go get those window's tinted and post up some more pics...

Any plans on lowering it? Love the new GT500's but they still sit way to high for my taste. These things would look badass with a lower stance...
