Wtf BMR

So am I missing something here ? I was adamant to bmr that I had a zl1 - so why the problem with last bushing .. smh I thought bmr had their stuff together ..

Can I cutt the bushing to be able to fit in ? Or am I just screwed cause of bmr sent me the wrong stuff ..

Man I’m getting tired of dealing with parts guys

Any insight to this I would appreciate it . As my diff is sitting on the floor till I figure this out

The diff bushings for the SS and ZL1 should be the same. They likely just need a little lube and pressure and they’ll go right in.

Umm the lip of the bushing get in the way and won’t let the bushing line up with the hole

And tbh I’m installing the delrin cradle bushing kit as we speak and I’m almost regretting buying them
, cutting off and reusing the top hat of the stick bushing and cleaning the rubber off is the pain in the ass !! Imho bmr could of done a better job , like Hendrix or some sort .. I’m pretty pissed off at bmr

Hmm bmr has crappy direction , they don’t even stay where to cutt the top hat so I cutt in the middle , and it’s almost square instead of round .. smfh

So the front cradle you have ti cut the top hat flush , the rear you’ll see when you cutt the rubber off where to cut the top hat apart at .. sure would of been nice if bmr would include that in the instructions ..

When knocking in the diff bushing I noticed that one of them was letting go alittle bit of skin , guess it kinda scraped some off . Which kinda mind boggles me as I cleaned and sanded the hole down and made it smooth ..

Unless someone here knows what’s going on I won’t be able to out my diff back until Tuesday when bmr opens up . What a bunch of bullshit

Spend 1200.00 for some rubber and you’d figure it wouldn’t be a problem !! I mean this isn’t a new product

Take it from me , trailing arms and toe rods are ok from bmr but for bushings I’d go somewhere else ..

Unless you don’t mind doing more work than you have to ..

I mean look at the mess cutting the bushing apart left

just taper the end of the bushing with a grinder and use ready rod to pull them in

sometimes freezing it will shrink it enough to fit.

Yes freezing them is good idea but unfortunately In my case it doesn’t shrink them enough .

Tapering the end should do the trick .

Put a clamp and a washer on there and crank it down. They will go in.

Got it done ! I ended up having to put a 1/8 notch on the lip of the bushing after tapering the end down alittle . I went and got a piece of 3/4 all thread , 3/4 washer and 1 1/2 washer 3/4 nuts , did the trick .

To anyone reading this thread and looking at the BMR stuff- consider using Detroit Speed.

Yes, the Detroit Speed stuff is more expensive. It is also much nicer is every way.
