Please read the bold part and explain how a blob with amazing performance is anything worth being excited about. You can make a minivan fast but it's still a minivan.

According to the Lansing Factory, “they are potentially looking at next week for the end of Camaro production”. No specific date yet.

Isn't it obvious that it's possible to enjoy and get excited about a wide variety of vehicles made for different purposes and from many different manufacturers?

Chevrolet ended the Camaro they way I expected they would. The fact that they built the ZLE was nothing short of stunning to me.

The great thing is that GM is still a company and they may choose to make more terrific cars in the future. I hope they will be allowed to do so.

It seems like the better people understand EVs, the less they want to own one. I think there's a good chance some laws will be changed and allow a less restrictive future.

These rather sexist comments clearly show you don’t know anything about her. But hey it’s the internet.

Deficiencies in performance (of which there were plenty) and reliability (plat plane crank V8) provided "opportunities" to introduce revised models and 1-off special versions with small improvements, along with the requisite body panel changes to make it look like a somewhat new offering (albeit on pretty much the same chassis since 2015).

With the G6 Camaro, GM prioritized performance form the get go and (unfortunately) at the cost of practicality. When it came time to offer improvements they could and did go more extreme (1LE offerings, ZL1 powerplant), but after that there was nowhere to go with it. Couldn't really improve performance at the price point (they were already knocking it out of the park compared to the competition) and couldn't address the DD practicality issues as would have required a totally new chassis.

I'm not sad about how things turned out, because I love my SS 1LE and use it mainly as a track car. The fact that production is stopping doesn't change how awesome my car still is, and the fact that it took Ford 6-7 years just to tie the lap times of the SS 1LE (albeit by using wider, stickier tires) shows just how good it is.
The Camaro vpchassis is the same as the Cadillac ATS/CTS. ATS coupe had a bigger trunk and more rear seat leg room than Camaro. The chassis had DD comfort and practicality. The Camaro execution off of that architecture took a different DP direction but the bones were there. Now as far as ATS/CTS sales………..

Don’t blame Mary, GM killed the Camaro because of the EPA. To meet emissions requirements they are limited in V8 sales. GM chose pickups, large suvs, and Corvettes over the Camaro for those V8 allocations because they have higher profit margins.

It is 100% true. I just showed you proof, what have you shown?

Also, typing in large caps doesn't mean I'm screaming. Get a grip. I'm trying to make sure people see it and stop thinking that production has already ended.

See right here.

We should be blaming all the poser guys who are buying heavy, V8 powered pickup trucks when they don't need one (aren't a farmer or a construction worker who frequently need to haul lots of stuff; they just want to look cool). In effect those guys are wasting V8s. Those V8s would be better allocated into a lighter weight vehicle (Camaro, etc) where the thrust to weight ratio can provide better enjoyment.

You’re gonna get a lot of **** for saying that on this forum because it’s full of people with trucks who don't do truck activities.

in effect the explosion of truck and suv sales in the late 90s helped kill the Camaro the last time.
