Smile VVT Cam

All,

First off, I'll list what I have on my car currently. I have a 2010 Camaro SS with the following modifications:

- ADM Race Intake
- ARH 1 7/8" Longtube Headers w/ High-Flow Cats & 3" from there on back
- SLP PowerFlo Axle-Back
- ECU/TCU Tune
- Lowered on Pedders Xa Coilovers

I've been really thinking about power adders lately, as I'll finally be done with my car payments next month. It's been six long years of paying. Anyways, this whole thought process was sped up after I bumped into a lovely, full bolt-on CTS-V (...while on cruise control driving 5 mph below the speed limit of course). These 3 options have come to mind...

1) Twin turbo. Yes, this might be the best way to get the most peak power, but I don't believe it's for me.

2) Supercharging. Definitely interested.

3) VVT cam. This is what I'm really focusing on now.

So, all that have experience on VVT cams, please let me know what you think of them regarding power, drivability, and efficiency (mpg). I'll ask a few questions here.

1) What stage cam did you get and why? Yes, I know a stage # cam cannot be compared from company X to company Y.

2) How much power did it add? Stock converter or no?

3) How was your fuel efficiency affected?

4) I want to supercharge in the future. Which VVT cams, if any, are compatible with a supercharger?

Thank you for reading and I hope to get a good conversation started here. Calling on Texas Speed and other vendors! Feel free to PM me if need be. I would probably be interested in taking a road trip down south from St. Louis for an install.

Be blessed all.

Good looking times you got there. What kind of mpg are you seeing in your car? What stall do you have?

So much potential here...

I see that he's in Arkansas. Not a bad drive at all.

My cam gives me about 15city MPGs 22 highway buuuuuut it's a track car I don't really drive it as far as VVT cams I would go with GPI or Futrul motorsports both have track proven cams unlike some who just show dyno graphs

Making right at 470rwhp with TSP VVT2 and LPE heads plus bolt ons. Could have went larger cam and made more power but car pulls hard

This. This is what I was wanting to hear, as I'm looking at the TSP VVT2. I don't want to change the stall converter, although it is recommended to. Good job on the heads too. If they're already out, might as well get some porting done, etc. Have a dyno graph that you'd like to share?
