That is not a crack. Literally every 1LE and ZL1 tire on our lot looks like that. It's just a mold mark.

he deleted his photo like this on another thread. OP trolling or wasting people and dealers time.

Maybe. It's possible that he just doesn't realize that it's not a crack. If so, we are here to educate and help him realize his mistake.

I agree - but you have to admit that a mold line is so obviously different from a crack that if he was that confused... it is kind of entertaining.

This is from a Goodyear bulletin on the Eagle F1 G2 tires from the Gen 5 ZL1 & 1LE. The Michelin SS, SC, SC2, Pirelli Trofeo R, etc. all are in the same boat. Here is the original Goodyear bulletin. Are your tires like this?

When I was thinking of a Z28, especially leftover ones that were marked down by over $20K, many had just sat for months and months (and months and months) out in the cold (and heat) at various dealers. Many had damaged tires, however, that was not GM nor Pirelli's fault for poor inventory management by those dealers. There was a rash of C7 Z06's that were stored outside at a rail yard for a while, think it was Toledo, OH, during a very cold time period. Many tires cracked during loading to ship out to final destination. Matter of fact, when the Camaros were made in Oshawa, they used to stop making the 1LE / ZL1's for a number of months each winter to keep from this.
Good thing my winter tires are on the way, temperatures here are about 5C when I leave for work, 10C during the day. Normally I'd wait until mid November to put my winters on but with these F1s I'll be doing it as soon as the winters arrive. Thanks for the useful bulletin

NP - any of the Extreme / Ultra Performance / Competition type DOT tires are probably in the same boat as what the Goodyear bulletin shows.

I use Michelin Pilot Super Sports as my daily tire on a couple of vehicles including my 1LE. I've had them in temps below 40F, but, they are much less of an aggressive compound than many of the ones mentioned. However, they obviously don't perform well cold vs. hot.

Really, the molding and manufacturing that they all have?
Unlike my issue, the photo you posted shows a perfectly straight line.
Can you please take some photos of the manufacturing process showing similar veering left and right like I posted yesterday?
This would make my day if it really is nothing.
You won't though, because you enjoy acting like a smart ass.
My driveway is 220' Long. All gravel. My tires get dusty as shit on it.
I deleted the photos because they were oversize.

i had cracks on the sidewalls of my previous car and drove it hard just fine. It happens because of weather mostly, nothing to be alarmed about.

I could be wrong, its very possible. But from the picture you uploaded I didn't see what you're talking about. Either way an easy solution would be just post the photo. That would be incredibly easy and take far less time than all this back and forth.

I just took a real good look at the tires. Magnifying glass and all.
It appears that you're correct. I guess it through me off because a few of those ribs aren't straight at all.
It got me scared.

Yup.
You guys missed that guy's sarcasm. He claims to have seen the OPs pics and that the OP was calling the molding line a crack, hence the picture he posted as sarcasm.

Edit: and the OP now agrees that his cracks were really just mold lines.
