New 1LE Owner & The Cars That Brought Me Here

What rides did you own before your 5th Gen 1LE? I've wanted a 5th Gen since the 1LE was re-introduced in 2013. I'm impressed with the platform. It's a fantastic value especially when trying to modify older vehicles to more modern specs.

I built the 72 Malibu in 2007 using a cammed LY6 and Tremec TKO600. Fun car that put down a reliable 430 RWHP.

The 68 Impala was quite a project. I built it in 2015 using an LY6 and 4L80e. Dual ZL1 pumps with a PWM controller running E85. With the S475 turbo it put down 842 RWHP on 19 PS1.

I finally acquired the 2015 1LE. The handling, comfort, power, and sound was really what I was looking for. Just a really balanced and comfortable car. I can't wait for better weather.

It’s fun to hear guys that had classic cars that were built up comparing them to a late model Camaro. I’ve got a 15 1LE that I love. Never had a chance to build a late 60’s to early 70’s muscle car but they still turn my head.
By the way I approve of your color choice!

Weirdly, this is my first (non-truck) car I've ever owned and I'm 45yrs old. I've had trucks and Jeeps my whole life, but wanted to try something different and the 1LE checked that box.

I've used it for autocross, the drag strip and on HPDE road courses. I've had it for about 6 years now and always toy with the idea of changing to a 6th gen 1LE, ZL1 or corvette. However, there is just something about that 5th gen body style that I love and that makes me want to hang onto it.

Nice rides and welcome.

These modern muscle cars are so good at so many things.

Great brakes handling power and drivability and fuel economy with all the bells and whistles.

I found quickly that you can spend lots of cash trying to modernize the classics and still not be close. The drivetrain is the easy part.

I did looks at Gen6's but after a while I just preferred the look of the 5th gen. More interior and backseat room sealed the deal.
