What’s it worth? Any offers? Need input. Thanks.
Trying to find out what my 2013 2SS triple black L99 convertible is worth as is. I need a new motor. Not a catastrophic failure, cats melted, broke down and when I was passing a R8 in our group the car lost power. Turns out 7&8 got the back pressure and the compression is 150 on those two cylinders. 200 on the rest. Had the engine removed and I am in the process of having it rebuilt. Not interested in spending $6-7k on the low side for a rebuilt L99, which, includes parts, labor, tax, etc. It will cost me $9-10k for forged internals, a complete blower cam new valve train LS3 conversion, larger injectors, ZL1 pump, valve job, Melling pump, new custom tune, etc.
Car has only 13k miles and has a SLP TVS2300 sc, ARH shorties, CAI with scoop, Vmax tb, pullied down one for 7.9psi, MSD BAP, Solo Mach XC catback, 3.70 LPE gears. Suspension: poly cradle, upper lower control arm, radius rod bushings, PFADT competition adjustable sways, Spohn trailing arms and toe links, Hotchkis 1” convertible drop springs, Michelin PSS 285-35-20’s (7k miles) on MRR M017 20x10 et23 (1k miles) all around. I have a complete set of ZL1 polished FR41’s in 20x10+23’s also. One owner, never wrecked, always garaged. What could I get for it as is with motor out? Currently at reputable performance shop. Need some ideas please. More pictures in my album. Thanks. |

What a shame man.
That car is freakin' gorgeous! If this was my car, bad engine or not, it would not be leaving my possession. That's for damn sure. I would say save up and do it right. Go forged and build a true beast.

Thank you. I appreciate your positive feedback. I might just do it. Frustrating that these cars have lost so much value.

Beautiful car, fix it. I'm not big on black but yours is sweet!

Why don’t I just rebuild it and drive it? This is a second car. I DD a 2001 4x4 lifted, 33” tires, TRD supercharged 4Runner. I purchased it new and it has been the best vehicle I’ve ever owned. Four wheeling, towing my fish and ski boat, etc. 200k. I have always had a 4x4 truck as my daily. No interest in a car except for performance. Bought the wife a new Edge a year and a half ago. Great car. Have one son. Drive the canyons out here with my friends and we drive fast. Going on 61 with a family and I feel I’ve had my fun and lucky to have no tickets or accidents. AutoX also. Looking to retire in the next couple years and selling my 4Runner and Camaro and seriously thinking about getting one of the newly designed Jeeps for 2018. It’s going to have a power convertible type roof. Also, looking into some property in the Rocky Mountain states.

I would say $12-14k with no motor. '10-11, higher mile, complete SS' are starting to get around that price now. I'm not sure how much value that SLP setup keeps, so thats probably on the low side.
