Under hood battery posts
So I was doing an installation and accidentally grounded myself out on the 6 post. It doesnt have 12v power anymore and I'm trying to figure out why. Is there a fuse tied to this post? I thought they were all just direct from the battery but I guess not.

I believe there’s power to all those

Figured it out. Just in case anyone does like me in the future the entire block is a fuse. So note to future self. Its ALWAYS easier to just remove the negative battery terminal. Even if you are just "making a quick connection". What should have taken me 10 minutes has turned into quite an affair.

Great info. Guess we need to be careful if we are adding anything from that point.

I second that this is great information (or 3rd or 4th it).
Good to know and something to be careful of. I added a supercapacitor bank to mine a while back, connecting it from the main feed terminal (B+, second in from the end) to ground. It has an integral 175 ampere fuse but if it hadn't had one it would have been better to connect it to the 200A terminal I think. Out of idle curiosity I tried to locate a direct replacement for that junction bar but couldn't. Everywhere I looked all they sell is the entire fuse box as an assembly. However if I may offer a suggestion- For about 10% of the price of a new fuse box add an AMG-100 (bolt-on) fuse to that post and a short copper strap jumper over to the main B+ terminal. Other manufacturers make them too (like the Littelfuse 298 "Mega" or BF1 series fuses). Stereo shops should carry them in stock for high power amplifier setups.

Wow I used one of those terminals for a battery maintainer. Had I known I could have done that I would have disconnected the negative cable. How much was that fuse block?

Not all model years are the same on this. My 2020 does not have constant power to those other terminals...

How much is a new one? Is it just a dealer part?

There is already a cable for 6 pin. This one is too short to get to pin 6. When I connected it to the red wire to pin 2, the starter turned. I haven't tried any others, I don't want to burn anything.
