Agreed.

I also thought the price for the halo's were not for me. I also invested in the polished 20's on my yellow 2ss. Don't get me wrong, but I did not say I didn't like the Halo's, I just used the money elsewhere. As far as the black molding, I think it goes well with the stripes of the Transformer Edition.

i havent read the whole thread but for me it was just 1200 bucks i could spend on something to make mine different. for example i got me some black rims and tint and soon to get cai.. the rs rims just dont justify the money bc u can barely tell the difference unless its right next to a reg ss.

I think the same can be said about the entire rs package. The general, non-enthusiast public, would have no idea that the car wasn't an rs.

Didn't seem worth it, you are basically paying most of that $ for the headlights. Body color ditch molding and the darker rims are nice, however, obviously don't cost GM any more to make.

I will admit I regret not getting the package a little now, though. I really like those halos, and HIDs would have been nice. Just couldn't justify the cost. Might eventually install some blue halos to make myself feel better about my decision; much cheaper than the full package and more unique than the stock halos (which I would have had to remove anyways)

Another SS, Non RS Camaro Owner Here.
I didn't want the darker wheels, the rear lights and ditch molding didn't do anything for me. I was not crazy about the halo's.

This thread probably just saved me $1200. (Thanks guys.)

I was dead set on the RS package until you all laid out what my money gets me. I think I will stick with the regular SS.

Now the only question is - 1SS or 2SS? I'm leaning toward the 2SS, but really, the only thing it appears to have that I care about is the USB port. The rest of the 2SS additions are things I probably won't miss since I've not had them before.

Just to add a little different take:

I love the RS darker wheels, especially with Silver exterior....the base SS wheels look a little bland with Silver for my tastes. I also appreciate the HID lights, makes a nice difference in night driving. Body colored molding is minor, but a nice detailed touch. I know for me I would end up getting wheels at some point if I didn't get the RS package.

But wouldn't the rims and headlights be cheaper outside the dealer?

I really didn't want to spent another $1,200. I'm very happy w/ my car and get lots of looks just the way it is.

Not sure on that point....I'm of the understanding that the darker wheels are only available as part of the RS package, could be wrong. As far as the HID lights, I also like the halo look and I just wanted everything factory, with warranty as opposed to going aftermarket. Probably could save on the lighting for sure.

I didn't think the package was worth the extra $$$$$$$. I'm very pleased with just a 2SS non RS.
