I never recall any law banning hidaways. the only reason vettes do have them is for aerodynamics. and last time I checked the hidawayss on the maro wont effect any aerodynamics.

They're heavier and cost more and are prone to freezing or mechanical failure too.

I'm pretty sure Scott posted it was too difficult or expensive to make them work reliably.

There is a couple problems with hideaway.....
Cost in warrenty claims They cannot be used in Europe. All headlights in Europe have to be exposed. quality. When was the last time you saw a first gen that the hideaways were lined perfectly. For those that want them. I'm sure a aftermarket company will be making them........ |

Survey says, two to one in favor. Now how much will it cost?
Where you might be able to sell 75 kits for the Do-It-Yourselfers at $299, you might only find two or three that willing to pay $1999 for ones that are installed by a body person, painted, align perfect, work every time, and have a warranty . In the meantime Wal-Mart will sell cheap smoked headlight covers (held on with imitation Velcro) to the rest of us for $29.99. |

Y'all are funnny.
Hey, if the Camaro lives on to sell more units than GM imagined, you CAN expect the possibility of other models to "keep 'em selling." Anyone remember the RS/SS with "hideaways?!?!" It could happen. Y'all just need to buy the SNOT out of them. And I mean buy a LOT of them. Unless the aftermarket comes to our rescue, as they have done in the past. (hint-hint).
