Driving Camaro in rain

Am I the only one who tries to not drive their Camaro if it's going to rain. I am a lazy a$$ I know and it is so much easier to just dust it off rather than have to wash it when it gets dirty. I hate driving a dirty Camaro. Just doesn't seem right. Anyone else avoid the rainy days whenever possible. I've had my car almost 6 months and have only 1300 miles on it. I bought it to be my daily driver in the summer but it hasn't worked out that way. Too much rain this year so far.

I think you'll get a variety of different responses on this question. For lots of folks their Camaro is a daily driver and they drive in all conditions. Others, like me have a garage queen Camaro. My 2012 just turned 4 years old last month and only has 8,700 miles on it. I've driven mine in the rain, but only on a few occasions when my wife has my Expedition out of state (the Expedition is normally my DD). Otherwise, as you've stated, once you get the car all cleaned up and shiny, you hate to take her out and get it all messed up in bad weather. In my case, time is a premium and when I clean my Camaro, it's a 6 hour ordeal, sometimes split between two days. If I clay and wax, even longer.

At the end of the day, if you can avoid the rain, that's cool. If you can't, that's cool too. Whatever works for you is what's best.

I try not to drive my Camaro when it rains because other drivers become even bigger dumbasses as soon as it starts raining. So I drive my lifted Suburban. Chances are that if someone slides into me in that, I'll win. So it's not that I have a problem with my Camaro getting wet, it's sits at home in the driveway while it's raining and I'm driving the Suburban.

Don't like to drive mine in the rain either.......those Pirelli Summer tires suck and hydroplane easily. We drove thru a thunderstorm monsoon on Monday coming across Pennsylvania out by Harrisburg and I had to be very careful due to the hydroplaning issues.

I am another one that hates when my Flash is dirty.....must wash it immediately!!!!

I drive mine in the snow, so a little rain won't hurt anything. I will say the PZEROS aren't fantastic in the rain though

I've never owned a car that I can't drive in the rain......including this one. Stock Pirellis zero issues in major downpours since I have owned it. Now I have 295 40 20 Falkens out back.....and guess what.. zero problems in major rain. Now I do try to avoid rain but sometimes it just doesn't worl out.

I don't only because the tires I have on it suck in the rain and my truck can go thru the roads that flood easily

You nailed it! It was my DD until we got smart and got a winter beater. I try to drive it if I know rain is coming . Haven't driven the Camaro for the last 4 days cause of rain. It was supposed to be clear and sunny today so took the Camaro to work and guess what? Rain!

I have driven mine in the rain before. Black cars look terrible with water spotting. So I drive my other car when its raining and the Camaro is a weekend toy.

Well damn, it's a Camaro, not a vintage Bugatti. I don't care to clean it anymore than the next guy, but if it rains, and I need to drive it, I drive it....stock GY's seem to be ok rain tires if speeds are kept within the limits.
