C7 versus ZL1

What do you think the performance pecking order will be between the C7 and Camaro ZL1 (starting from best)?

1. ZR1 C7
2. Z06 C7
3. Camaro ZL1
4. Standard C7

The ZL1 and standard C7 will likely be the closest in performance (0-60 and track times) I'm thinking. And since final performance figures for the C7 haven't been released yet, we can speculate for fun for now

I would put a base Z51 over a ZL1. Less weight, optional MRC, dry sump etc.

C7 is suppose to match the current Z06, so that would put it just over the ZL1 due to less weight, better handling (because of weight), and quicker. If the current Z06 is capable of 0-60 in 3.6/7 then the C7 should be about there or close.

As much as I love my ZL1, based on what has been said so far, the base car should be faster the the Z. The upgraded models Z06 and ZR1 should be much quicker. The car that might get into the mix down the road will be the lighter Camaro Z28 with the upgraded LT1 engine. Remember that you heard it here first.

Seem most guys think the base C7 will still outperform the ZL1 Camaro.

Do you guys think that it will also cost more than the ZL1?

Yes the C7Z51 package will cost more then the ZL1 Camaro. The ZL1 Camaro should be selling for around $56-$60K. That is only a few grand over the projected C& base price. I think the Z51 loaded out will sell for around $75K

as of today (10 August 2013) the Camaro ZL1 base is $54350 and the C7 vette with Z51 is slightly more($51995 plus $2800).

Don't forget the extra dough for the mag ride as well. 1800 if I am not mistaken.

Just remember, you can put more co-eds in a ZL1, so that may be considered a performance issue.

I would guess in a year, as the C6 Z06 showed up roughly a year after(2006) the C6 was launched(2005).
