Accidental Camaro Caravan

Every now and then I see another Camaro on the highway, and we end up driving next to or behind each other for a ways, and I think it's pretty cool.

Well, on my way home from work today, that went to another level. I unintentionally became part of a 4 Camaro caravan. within a half mile stretch of a busy section of highway, 3 other Camaros appeared, each merging from separate entrance ramps, and we soon found each other in the fast lane, all 4 in a row. We rode in formation for at least 10 miles, and as one car would leave formation to exit the highway, he would speed up and give everyone a thumbs up. I was the 3rd car to break formation, so I sped up and gave the guy a big wave, and we parted ways.

Just something that made me smile, and I think it proves Camaro owners are different from other car owners.

What is the biggest accidental caravan you have been apart of?

(Also, maybe those owners were part of camaro5? Does this sound familiar to anyone? )

I think there is a camaraderie with certain cars. I suspect you will find it with any type of car that has car clubs. I have never seen a Camry car club. But you would probably find a similar experience with Toyota FJs, Mustangs, Challengers, Jeeps, etc.

No caravan yet but 9/10 if I see another Camaro on the freeway and they see me, we get a little spirited for a couple miles.

I have accidentally been in a 3 camaro caravan... It was actually a very funny incident that had occurred on that day.

So I am driving down on the freeway and on the entrance ramp that was coming up in about half a mile, I see another Gen5 enter the freeway so I try to speed up and get next to him so I can wave at him... now I am driving and trying to wave this guy next to me looking out my passenger window and my brother(riding passenger) saw me and while he was asking me what I was doing he noticed that there was another Gen4 that had pulled up next to me on my driver side and was waving at us haha... so my brother waves back at him while I am still trying to wave at this Gen5 owner next to me, and then we ended up going as 3 camaro's in three lanes for about another mile or so before me and the Gen4 guy decided to speed and move up ahead and we went on for a good 7-8miles and later the Gen4 guy waved out of his sunroof while taking the next exit.

Certainly one of my most memorable experience!!

One cool thing that almost always happens when several of us Camarovan to an event is that along the way, local Camros will join in & accompany us a few miles then wave, flash lights or give a thumbs up to us & go on their way. Sometimes as many as 3-4 have joined us at a time. A few times some have followed us as we made a pit stop wanting to know where we were headed & talking to us about our cars. It is always fun!

I have had accidental camarovans or 3 or 4 spring up a few times. I get a bigger permagrin if even one cruises along with me for a while.
