Anyone planning to custom-paint their new C7?

I'm wondering if you're going to change the black color of the rear bumper to something else.

Does it seem like that can be painted?

It does seem like it can be painted, and the thought has crossed my mind but I'm going with a blue and black color combo, so I'm just going to leave it alone.

The black parts like the hood and fender louvers and the lower rear fascia are already painted carbon flash metallic, so custom painting them will be no problem other than time and money. I suspect we'll see a fair number of cars with those pieces body color, or even other contrasting/complimenting colors, and fairly soon. I for one plan to add a tastefully custom stripe at some point, different than those the factory is offering, and in a color not offered by GM. But it may not be right after I take delivery.

20 grand for a paint job?! You gotta find a better studio to do it.

I got a quote for about 5-7k, using Ferrari paint.

I have thought about two things I might paint on my Torch Red non Z C7: the front side (the side that faces the rear glass) of the mini wing from black to Torch Red, the sides of the transparent panel similarly to the way the exposed carbon fiber panel is done.

I don't know who said 20 grand to you, but they might have been high or something.
