Should have left her
Should of left her in the garage that morning. She was my only car that day and I had to get to work. I thought I was being careful with the wet road; but obviously not careful enough. I had driven her in the rain before, so I wasn't caught by surprise with a bit of sliding. I did feel the traction/stability control try to do their magic, but they must of been out of pixie dust. No injuries, except my wallet.

Yikes! As terrible as it to see something like this, I hope it did it's job and protected you from injury. That's what insurance is for.

Let us all share a collective moment of silence to remember her in better times. She is now in a better place. a place where premium gas costs a nickle, a place where the cops all drive fords and their radios do not work.

Extremely sorry to see this! But glad you're OK!
Living in Florida we get a lot of rain. Just curious on how hard it was raining, we're you in a curve, and how fast were you going when it started to hydroplane? |

After seeing the telephone pole and the force absorbed by your car, perhaps it's a blessing in disguise. Imagine what would happen if the pole wasn't there and you kissed an oncoming locomotive.
What a shame. Take the check from the insurance company and restore the 69 in your photos. |

As a new owner who hasn't yet had an opportunity to drive my ZL1 vert (top up) in the rain, I gotta ask you and the rest of the group what I'm up against here. Spoiled by my Silverado Z71 I am admittedly nervous about doing something 'natural' in the ZL1 on a slippery, wet road and learning the hard way.
I'm really sorry to see your accident, Slim, but I am glad you're okay. |
