Ummm, yea. The 335 has one of the best engines and transmissions ever built. Your V6 will see nothing but tail lights right off the line. I doubt the SS would beat it, would be a drivers race but whoever is in the SS better be a damn good driver.

Agreed. Reasonably/typically equipped, $50k.
Still, that's ~50% price premium. Bimmer is a speck slower 0-60 and 1/4 mile, similar braking and better handling. Beauty is in the eye of the beerholder, but I'd say they're even. Comfort/amenities/interior: BMW Sound/rumble: Camaro SS Camaro SS is on my short list. Full disclosure: I own an '08 335i E90. |

The OP is getting a v6-so it's actually a 100% premium .
Not being the math police- just pointing out that it's just a comparison that doesn't work. |

+1 to what you quoted Kurt. only 16 and have waited SO long, I am still giggling and shaking my head. I was driving a Camaro Z28 when this guy was conceived and born!
I am not trying to bust your stones buddy, but realize that alot of us here had Camaros long before you were born, so you won't find much sympathy or support for that. |

Are you talking 335i coupe or sedan?
The camaro will be a little slower either way. |

In stock form, in a straight line, the Camaro probably JUST edges it out 0-60, and gains distance from there, as long as they keep going straight. In the curves, the Bimmer spanks it. Overall, I'd guess if you get some decent straights, the SS comes in ahead. If ALL you care about is performance, then the minor advantage of the Camaro + the WAY cheaper price, seal the deal. If you like the ride, responsiveness, interior and super-solid build of the Bimmer, then maybe it tilts toward Bavaria, depending upon your weighting of each metric?! I'll be considering a 1-2yr old, CPO Bimmer, along with Camaro and others, when I'm ready - I hope to hold out 2 more years . . . LOVING no payments, even though my ride is a POS. Wife drives the 335i . . . |

Car and Driver ran the 2007 335I 0-60 in 5.3 second. Unless she gets a performance tune/chip that can add from 35-70hp the SS will handle it fine. The LT Camaro os around 6 seconds 0-60 and 14.3 1/4 so you'll have a disadvantage that is due to the Camaro weight.

Most of the 335i owners are running mid 12' to high 12's with just the ECU piggy back and the downpipes. Go to E90POST and look it yourself. On another nore, the worst times I seen on a 335i road test has been 13.5. The V6 Camaro has no chance against the 335i. It will be better match for a modest 330i.

You're too young to have waited too long for anything???? You will respect and treat the first car you fully buy better than one your daddy pays for.. Definitely get a job, build your credit so you alone can afford to buy the Camaro without a co-signer.. You'll thank me later..
