Newer builds don't have this issue. My born on date was 10/15 & my recall work was done weeks ago. All is good. Just focus on a newer build when you start browsing. Besides, a new car on the lot can't be sold until the issue is fixed if it is red flagged.

On my oil pan, the markings are on the side. Would this be considered etched?

Just received a call from the Dealer. My car did not require either of the two updates and I think it was built in December. Last digits of the VIN ar 0131536.

I still need to get in to get mine checked. I had it in about three weeks ago for an oil change, but they said the oil change guys couldn't check it. They were supposed to set an appointment, but never called me back.

My VIN is 117271, first week of production.

Are you missing a bolt? See green dot.

recall

Bad news. I'm one of the raised letter ones. Dealer has to order parts which he said are on national back order. Of course I've got the NPP exhaust rattle too, which they can't figure out. This is becoming a disappointing experience

Mine is in for this recall/repair.

Took mine to the dealer yesterday morning, and they gave me a loaner while they are fixing it. The Mechanic said he had to take it apart and determine what was to be replaced. Now waiting on the rest of the parts, should be back in my hands tomorrow!!

Hey, and a free oil change at 3100 miles. How awesome is that?!

Yes! But you ought to have the dealer check it to make sure.

Good Afternoon rongrut1961,

I’m so happy that your dealer was able to repair your 2SS in a timely manner. Looking forward to hearing about how it turned out!

If you ever have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask.

All the best,

Got the letter in the mail a few weeks ago but my car has been sitting in storage so I haven't had the chance to check. It's a Nov 2015 build so I'm assuming I'm stuck with a bad one. This is infuriating. I had to get my headlight replaced a few months ago and it took the dealer 2 weeks to figure out the issue and cost me $200 in uber fees because they refused to give me a loaner or provide shuttle service on the return trip. On top of that they left a screwdriver in my engine bay. Now I'm supposed to leave the car there for 3 days (probably without a loaner again) and trust that these idiots who can't change a headlight will be able to partially remove the engine and put it all back together correctly. ****ing ridiculous for a $50k car.

Even though I had checked earlier on my own and confirmed I had the etched oil pan I took mine to the dealer today for the recall inspection. The service tech agreed with my findings and I am now clear of this issue.
