Yeah, I like that heritage package too.. GM sure knows how to make some of these special edition limited packages look great...

And this 25th anniversary one below from another forum..

A trade in unfortunately will get you less than that (almost half). I found this at carmax which is usually a good estimate as to what price your car should sell at. If you do sell at this price of $18,000, you can pay off what you owe and have a good $14,000 down payment on the new Camaro SS I'm quite sure your monthly payments would be less than what they are now..

Oh no, no. I bought the car in Dec. 2005, and I'm a little over halfway through the loan. My Camaro is only a V6 Coupe hardtop, auto, alloys, Monsoon audio and I paid about $8,200 for it. The last Kelley Blue Book value I found for it was around $8,000 (Private Party).

as predicted, we sold the Miata and the Civic... its kind of ironic that they sold the same week that the Camaro production car unveiled... lol

I've wanted and H2 for years but they are WAY expensive new...so we waited and waited...and we saved and this year we started looking...with in a month or so i found an awesome deal, and since the money was in the bank we were able to snatch it up.

We baught a 2006 with 15k miles on it...FULLY LOAD and mean everything for 20k less than it cost new, just 18 months ago....thats a HUGH savings! I think I almost cried when I got to finally drive it!

Now i get to drive it everyday and never worry about a monthly payment...I get to spend my money on aftermarket stuff and fill the tank and not stress about it...BEST FEELING IN THE WORLD!!!!!

Couldn't agree more! My wife and I bought an '07 Tahoe about a year ago slightly used and FULLY LOADED. MSRP on that bad boy was $52k, we paid $32k. I would literally have kicked myself in the nuts if I would have been the person to have taken that initial 20k hit. Ouch!

Anyway, this is what I fully intend on doing with the Camaro. This car is going to sell like hotcakes, and I am sure there are many eager 18-25 yr olds with eyes bigger than their wallets that are looking to snatch one up. I will be more than happy to take it off their hands when they get over extended.

Sadly, I'll be in the same boat. It could be a long time before I can save up for mine.

^I actually realised I'll have no trouble getting the downpayment together. I'm a cheap money saving bastard when I have a goal and I already have like 3K in the bank, only need another 5 to make a downpayment on SS with options clocking in at 35K. As long as I have a somewhat stabile economy to make the monthly payments, I'm good.

Work 6 days a week (M-F full time one job, Sat. 8 hours at another), getting a raise in August and saving everything above what I spend now to put down on this bad boy; or, pay my truck down and refi it cheaper, put what I have left down on the Camaro and finance the rest of that too; or; pay off my truck and fully finance the Camaro.

I have some options. Don't know how much my raise will be though... if it's significant, it could make all of this much easier!

I'm about to start college at OSU-Okmulgee in the GM ASEP program. It's a two year program that alternates going to school and living on campus for 8 weeks before going back home and working at a GM dealership for another 8 weeks, before returning to school. I'll be saving money from the dealership work over the next two years so that I can get close to a 5k down payment on a new SS. I just hope college itself doesn't demand too much of that money...

Payments... Damn I hate payments. I haven't had a car payment since 1988.

Oh well, gotta go for it anyways. Still keeping my 98 SS Vert, though.

Most likely the next 5+ years of my life. Getting the new Camaro is pretty much my #1 goal in life right now. Even if its just the base LS model, It's gonna be mine no matter what. I plan on getting a job within the next few days at Movie Gallery or Radio Shack and saving almost every penny, some for gas money. Considering all the taxes and other crap I'll have to pay, I'm hoping to put a down payment of at least 2k, and payments of around $300-$450. Really, I'm just waiting for the first time I sit in that drivers seat and turn the key, nearly creaming my pants at the sound of the V6 under the hood

I'm probably going to have to sacrifice getting a Camaro on day one.

My wife and I have changed cars every 2 years or less since I have been here in the USA (6 years). In that time, we've had 7 different cars (having been married only 4 years!)... which is a bit obsessive/excessive, 4 of them were brand new.

03 Accord V6 coupe (new) - wife
03 Hyundai Tiburon - Supercharged (new) - me
00 BMW Z3 2.8 Convertible (used) - wife
04 VW GTI (new) - me
06 Honda Civic SI - pre order with 3 month wait (new) - wife
06 Honda CIvic SI - Full Honda Factory Performance edition (used) - me
07 Mazda MX5 GT (new) - wife

It's probably about time I got one paid off and out of the way!
And as you can see, it's my turn for a new car!!!

I am lucky enough to have about $8k equity in my current car, and fortunately with the gas price crunch, the used value of my fully loaded 06 Civic Si is remaining VERY stable.

Hopefully that will net me a decent downpayment when the time comes to pull the trigger.

Ideally I think I want to hold out for a convertible too... as if I got a coupe drove it and then saw a convertible, I know I would have to have it...
