Well, our government here is turning Pa into California. I wouldnt want 80's in December and I own my own business. It doesnt look like I will ever have a reason to go out there. Lol

It is nice being able to drive your fun car year round, but the socialist mindset is killing small biz . I'm selling mine and headed to AZ can't wait to get out of this mess.

Socialist? AFAIK we don't have even the smallest amount of socialist tendency anywhere in the United States. Nor do we have much in the way of [similar sounding but altogether different] Social Democracy (like the most advanced Western nations). Perhaps you're thinking of something else? "Regulation" perhaps?

I'm not a California-lover, but if you look at the history of smog there, you'd understand exactly how they ended up with so much regulation on that front. And if you had lived through it, you'd probably support the regulation because it has made the air breathable again. The housing costs have more to do with everybody and their brother wanting to live there where all the rich tech companies are. Personally I wish they'd all stay there and quit moving up to Oregon & Washington, though TBH it's probably why my house goes up 50-100K a year in value.

Unless you've got $500,000+ in your pocket for chemo, this statement makes you a hypocrite. Because when you do get cancer, I'll be subsidizing your procedure costs because I pay into insurance. If you simply paid out of pocket and never used any insurance, then you'd have a point and you could stand on that ground.

You gotta pay to play but 750 a month would be good reason to continue to play in your 2.0 Just imagine how you would feel a year from now when the honeymoon wears off and your upside down 20 grand!

And you're losing money everytime you do. You would have to be finding someone that is basically taking over your payment because there is no way you are not upside down at 84 months with no money down. Trade in would be completely out of the question. Unless you are financing the balance from the trade into the new one. The tax, tag, title and other fees alone will put you upside down with no money down. On a $40,000 car financed for 84 months at 2.99% with no money down, you will be actually financing around $42,800.00 do to tax, tag, title and other fees. That's $13,560 in payments you will make in 24 months, but you will still owe $31,470. Meaning you are already in the hole $2,230.00 before you even attemp to trade or sell your car. Now lets look up a 2016 1SS camaro's value in the black book. It's between $26,000 to $29,500 with trade in price being even less. Now you are upside down by $5,470 to $1,970 if you sell private more if you trade. You could possibly just shit one out your ass if you sell privately and find someone to pay you top dollar. Most people won't put the effort into selling a car on their own. That has an entire new set of issues with a car that has a loan on it.
Disclaimer : this example is a PA example. Other states could be different.
If people would look at the math and the real numbers many would see that they really can't afford what they are buying. Too many focus on making payments alone.

I would think a lease would make a lot more sense for him.

Off topic again. I think with all their fires, they've completely reversed and made up for all their smog savings over the past 40 years, becoming the highest polluting state in the country! Hypocrites!!!
