The 6th gen V6 is good for about 13.8 in the 1/4 mile. The WS6 was good for about 13.2-13.5 depending on few factors. So the WS6 has the edge. That being said, the WS6 is now a very old car so condition plays a huge part in the equation. Would I be surprised if the 6th gen win? No, but it would likely be because the WS6 isn't 100% up to par.

Up here in Il. we got more than a few 6 Cyl. At10 Camaros, that run most so the summer in the 13.7. Infact 1 just took 1 place in street. I've got to work more on the tree. Your 60' time is at 2. seconds.

^^^Agreed. The LS1 was no joke, surprising torque off the line and it pulled hard to the redline. With a good driver and decent tires the WS6 hooked up pretty well at the light. Edge to a good running stock WS6.

350lb/ft torque vs 284. Big difference.

The LS1 WS6 M6 would trap 106-107 mph. The V6 6th gen Camaro M6 traps 100-103 mph. There's a pretty significant difference between 100 mph and 107 mph. Despite the similar weight and hp, the reason for the difference is likely the flatness of the hp curve in the LS1. I'm guessing the V6 is fairly peaky, and the WS6 LS1 likely has a flatter hp curve and higher average hp at the top end. The LS1 was a great engine for its time.

I have both and drive both every week. It would be a close race. The 10 speed loves to rev and stay up there. ie if I nail it thru a yellow light then come off the pedal, the revs stay high on the V6. The ws6 advantage is the M6 with monster disc and tick clutch. I would love to see them side by side with professional drivers.

Wife and I picked up a 99 ws6 for her so she can start doing HPDE with me. Car itself is surprisingly in really good shape but we have had put about 3k into it (b4 tires). Mostly cause it was 25 year old with OEM parts. prior owner kept ridiculous notes on when things were fixed/replaced down to wiper blades and air fresheners. Lol.

we didn't go crazy with mods yet. The engine and trans itself was solid (hence why we bought it). I have been spending the last few months in the garage replacing sensors, gaskets, bushings, ect ect ect to get it back to its glory days. That being said, I've taken it out on "test drives" and man...it brings me back to my early 20s when these were new. Is it zl1 fast.... God no. But for what it is (325hp 350tq) its fast. I am still amazed that v6s now have over 300hp, as that was a pipe dream back in the 90s **without throwing a turbo on it. but there is also a huge difference in v8 tq and v6 tq. And while the hp are close, the tq is where it's going to favor the v8. Either way, it would be an interesting race.

4th gen LS1s were also under rated from the factory. GM had to prop up the corvette as a selling point. In reality, they both had the same engines but the camaro/firebird put down a couple more ponies on a dyno (stock) due to the vette having a torque tube and IRS. But the vette was lighter so there's that. I had 3 LS1 camaros and they were solid as hell. Almost bought another one to mod.
335hp is pretty damn impressive for a V6 for sure. The only engines I know of back then putting out close to that was factory FI engines.

I used to have real thing for the WS6 T/A but I couldn't afford it at the time and was in a 94 Camaro 3.4 5m...that thing was slow as hell. I use the same wheel and slightly but with the 30 series tires.

This^

They were not detuned, same day dynos of both cars showed they put down within a HP or two at the wheels.

the Z28 was rated at 305hp and the SS at 325, but dyno results showed both at around 330.
the Corvette did have a different cam though.
