Nitto Motivos
I've been surfing the tire sites, looking for my first set of replacement tires. Like many, I'm not thrilled with the factory P-Zero summer tires. They stick good in warm weather and generally handle well, but they are REALLY noisy and are hard in cold weather (no snow here, but temps get below 40 fairly often in the winter). I'm looking for a tire with very good handling and a less harsh and quieter ride. I have 37K miles on the P-Zeros and they've pretty much had it.
Based on reviews I've read for MANY tires, it seems the Nitto Motivos are very highly rated by customers. Are they really THAT good? I'd appreciate opinions from those who have these tires and/or anyone who really prefers another tire with the characteristics I seek. I also read the Nittos are rated for 60K miles. Can anyone confirm this claim? Thanks for the input.

Based on the reasons you dislike the P-Zeros, you might be happier with all season tires, which will have more consistent performance over a large temperature range.
Frankly, I don't understand why summer tires are standard equipment on the SS; they should be optional for people who really want them. I selected my all-season tires based on comparison tests at Tire Rack and Car and Driver. Mine are superior to P-Zeros for touring and are more than adequate for the occasional visit to the drag strip, where the highly prepped track makes the stickiness of summer tires irrelevant, at least for a stock SS. |

BF Goodrich G-Force Comp-2 A/S And here's one of the reviews I used to make a decision: https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tests...y.jsp?ttid=222 This is the only tire other than P-Zero that I've had on the Camaro, so all I can say is that for my needs, the Comp-2 is FAR better of the two, particularly: lower noise better tracking and steering feel much better traction in cold and rain |

I recommend the nitto 555g2 for a good all around street tire...

The best All-Season tires on the market right now is either the Continental Extreme Contact DWS-06, or the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+.
What size tires you run? Stock SS sizes? If so, the DWS-06 is going to be my recommendation.

And Tire Rack doesn't seem to carry them, but Discount Tire does. Thanks for all the input, guys. More welcome.

Just checked back with Discount Tire and they state the Motivos ARE all-season tires, which is good.
Also, the Nitto 555 G2s are "directional" tires, which I don't want. I like to rotate my tires every 5K miles. I've got 37K miles on my original P-Zeros and I believe the regular side to side rotating has something to do with it.

There was no cupping on the fronts, and toward the end, just a bit of feathering on the fronts. They were all still legal when I replaced them. |

If you can swing it, get a set of winter and summer tires. I have a separate set on standard SS wheels for winter.
All season tires don't do anything particularly well. I had Nitto Motivos on my last Camaro and they were decent. they would start to break loose noticeably sooner than the P Zeroes but I would buy them again. |
