Dealers/salesmen know nothing about the cars the sell. You expect them to know about a car possibly coming in 2 years?

Technically I know the current use of ZL1 is the first dealer available model named ZL1 but this car is so good it is already an icon. The original RPO was for one badazz engine, not a cowl hood. That was my original point.
SS, ZL1, Z/28, RS, LS, LT etc are not models. The model is Camaro. The terms SS and ZL1 are nothing more than packages available for the Camaro known as RPO codes. It has nothing to do with being iconic. The RPO ZL2 is already used to describe a package that was once available for the Camaro. It cant be used again to describe something else. Making it obvious that story was fake.

If GM wanted to name the next one ZL2 they certainly could. (Despite it being used prior for another package)...

They just simply will not because ZL2 is stupid.

Is that all sales people or just the ones you deal with. I don't if its a joke or not but he did know about the ZL1 way before it came out but thought it was going to be called a Z28. Some of them seem to know more than others.
