But I do think I will have something for the dung beetle. If I can get these drag radials to hook decent on the street. I watched him race that hellcat on the show Monday, of course the hellcat blew the tires off (looked like factory tires) and got beat. But both AZN and Farmtruck were impressed with how it hung. I think it would be a race. But thanks for the compliments on my build! I've been saying, if it's not fast at least it will be pretty.

Pretty decent races with the Gen 5 Camaro racing the dung beetle. That beetle with the new EFI did a wheelie on the last race I saw. Was glad the Camaro brought some racing tires to go with whatever power adders he has, Nitrous..etc...
Yeah he may have lost, but his car sure looked nice.

I guess the next thing you guys are going to say is that tv wrestling is not real.

IMO any car you have to trailer is NOT a street car.
The show was a novelty at first, now it seems to be all about the drama. I watch if on and I am writing a paper for school or something. I don't go out of my way to watch. Nice guys though, always cool at SEMA. |

As far as the show in question, yeah, it has that disclaimer so, you know its an unrealistically scripted show. Sure, the cars are pretty cool, but despite the disclaimer, the show basically tries to glorify illegal activity. When I was 16 I thought doing donuts and burnouts were cool, up until I found out how much a new set of tires cost. Not to mention the expense of repairs to either engine or body or suspension if.....no when things go inevitably wrong. Not everyone has the budget from a tv show to fix their cars. |

I stopped watching when the "Street" Outlaws were no longer driving Street Cars. That being said, i don't think even half of the original cars could have been classified as "Street" legal or street cars.
Also, since they completely shut down roads for their events and have giant light towers along the 1/4 mile strip i am pretty confident they are not doing this without proper permits and closures. They are no longer "Street" or "Outlaws" . Sweet cars though ! |

Yes they have pulled permits to close down the streets that they run on. They have the light towers and the emergency response teams with an ambulance on sight along with the fire department there too. As far as being scripted, are you talking about the scenes or the races? I've seen Jeff Lutz on the show and taking part in the races. I don't think a 14 time legitimate drag race champion would take part in 'fixed' or 'scripted' races. So I think that the races are legit. Have seen too many accident and blown up equipment to think otherwise. Have you seen Big Chiefs accident?

To everyone talking about their cars being street legal.....It states they are street racing, it never said they had to be street legal cars.
