Keep going back to the stingray

I have been between the shelby 350 , camaro 2SS and Stingray, maybe its because I've driven the stingray for a whole day but I just think its almost supercar status. What do you think the best bang for the buck is ?2015 z51? I do plan to track it. or should one wait for the summer 20 percent off sales and go new? I just bought an SUV for my wife so i feel I can be selfish and skip the backseats and go for something for me I just absolutely love the punch and exhaust sound and visibility over the new camaro, the shelby I did find a decent ADM on 2017 but not sure on the whole high RPM power thing any opinions?

I've not driven the other cars you mentioned. I'm biased for the Corvette. Wait and get a new one. I don't think you'll get 20% off. Maybe 10% at a high volume dealer.

FYI Randy Marion Chevrolet in Mooresville NC is advetising 2016 Corvettes starting at $49995.00 $15000.00 off regular price. I think the add said they had 15 or 16 to choose from.

Might as well consider the Stingray a supercar.

sorry for late response, so you think I should try for a new one vs used? I've been looking at z51 1 or 2lt, how important is magnetic ride, in the camaro 2016 seems to be very important i was obsessed with the camaro and know everything about it but kind of not so much with the stingray.

2015 z51 seems to be possible to have for 48-50K if you go nationwide, how important is the z51 package ? I definitely need the NPP exhaust and do prefer the extra coolers //? whats the best price combo ? you think?

new I imagine its 1lt non z51, yeah I feel like I have to go with the vette it is a supercar whole other class vs SS

It has less miles than the other one and is a 3LT vs a 2 LT. I think this is the better deal of the 2. You might also check ChevyUSA.Com. This is a Hendrick's dealership but you can see the Corvettes at all their dealerships across the country. I think they also handle shipping between their shops on sold units.

great info, can someone explain 2014 vs 2015 if there were any defects in first year production, also how important is the z51 package, I def have to have sport exhaust, but not sure if i need magnetic ride etc I am going to track 2 a month......2014 base stingray 1lt is def cheapest but I think some upgrades in 2015 were had with sport exhaust cooling etc?

I personally think new is a better deal. Regardless of mileage, you ate up one or two years of the 3 year bumper to bumper warranty by buying used, and the 2016 comes with a bunch of features that are worth getting over the earlier years (Android Auto, "D" steering wheel, improved transmission cooling for the A8, option to black out the chrome bar on the grill, improved top latches, etc). You can also attend Ron Fellows Driving School for $1000 if you buy new, and you have roadside assistance, some OnStar coverage, a couple months of satellite radio, etc.

Here's a new Laguna Blue Z51 manual for $56: http://www.macmulkin.net/VehicleDeta...-NH/2715500073

Personally (what I did), if you're not going to track the car, go with a base 1LT and get the performance exhaust. You save $4500 over the 2LT and you only miss out on heated seats, front parking cam, heads up display, dimming mirrors, and Bose noise cancelling. You save $3800 over the Z51 (assuming you pay $1200 for Performance Exhaust option) and you get the same horsepower and torque, a slightly lighter car, and don't have to deal with brake dust and expensive pad replacement, dry sump system, lower profile tires that don't ride as nice over bumpy roads, and the added complexity of the active rear differential. Don't get me wrong....the Z51 is a GREAT bargain if you're planning on tracking the car or want the features...but if you're pinching pennies to get the most bang for the buck and it won't see a racetrack, skip it. Just my biased opinion.

Ah, just read that you are going to track it. Maybe a 1LT Z51 IS what you need then??

And what gave you the impression that you can get 20% off in the summer? I've never seen discounts that good.

As for the Shelby, they're selling for $10-20k over sticker where I live, and it's a Mustang. FWIW, I own a Mustang GT as a daily driver (so I'm not hating on Mustangs)...but it's still a Mustang. No comparison to the Corvette, and the engine isn't going to have the satisfying high torque at all RPM ranges. It also has a Tremec manual which I'd avoid in either car, but that's a personal rant that I won't get into on this thread. I'm sure it'd be great on the track though, if that's your thing.

great input, i did want to track the car 1-2 times a month, Im going to comb over what you advised with the new one.

THIS JUST IN how is this deal, I found a 2016 z51 3lt private party with added borla exhaust 7k miles he is willing to take 56k its not my first color choice scheme its white with black interior fully loaded with magnetic ride...... should i jump on that? I did want red or black but hard to turn away from that 2016 private party used price at 56K .... anything bad about the borla?

Do they have the original exhaust? I mean, is it an option to re-install it if you don't like the Borla? That seems like a great deal for a 3LT Z51 if it checks out clean.

I ended up going with white...it wasn't my first choice either (at first) but eventually ended up being what I picked! My second choice probably would have been Torch Red with Yellow being third. To be honest, I'm not a huge fan of white cars, but the C7 looks REALLY good in white. It contrasts with the black accents nicely. Red and Yellow look great too, but I already get too much attention with the white...my thought was that it would fly under the radar a little bit better than a super bright color. I used to buy black cars exclusively...I like black, but with the C7 it blends in with the trim and doesn't really showcase the cars lines.

They Don't have the stock exhaust, they did an upgrade full x borla exhaust, any reason why this might lower value? I haven't heard it yet Its in anaheim I'm in the bay area, it seems super clean.

Also the above poster sent me the macmulkin dealer having amazing deals, I wonder if I really need the Z51 package? I could get a stingray one or 2lt for pretty amazing price? and get this red I want and add the performance exhaust? hmmmmm I really want red on red interior
