2016's beltline/driving comfort (elbow)?
I finally sat in a 2016/LT w/leather today and the beltline is noticeably high and I had to raise the seat up just to take the pressure off my shoulder. However, I'm 6'4 and 245lbs and raising the seat isn't a simple solution because then I'm looking directly at the sun visor. For those of you who like to rest your elbow out the window (weather permitting) how have you overcome the car's beltline design for comfort? How comfortable has the arm rest on the door of the driver's side been for those who own the car (especially from those who are around my size)? Thanks in advance.
Overall the car felt comfortable to sit in and my right arm felt very comfortable resting on the center console's arm rest. Klutch |

I am 6'3" and although I used to like having my arm rest on the window, I got used to not being able to do so in the 5th Gen. The armrest on the door on both cars are quite comfortable though so it was never much of an issue. I like you have the seat almost bottomed out.

I had no problem resting my arm on window and i didnt feel awkard when it was still hot outside. I also have no problem driving at night or parking the car in any direction as others said may be a problem. I do have to lean my head down to see traffic light but it has not bothered me

I'm 5'9" but I'm still able to rest my arm there, it's just up higher than usual. Not quite as comfortable as most cars but not terrible to where I've stopped doing it

there's an armrest built into the door
The arm/elbow rest built into the door is the perfect height and pretty comfy. Now granted, I'm only 5'11, so you got a few inches on me.
Here's a couple pics of the arm/elbow rest. Look for the red on the door panel: |

Thanks guys...I appreciate the quick responses. I drive a pickup every day so it's going to be an adjustment for me driving such a smaller vehicle. I didn't expect for the car to be as accommodating as my truck by any stretch but I want to be comfortable while driving this sexy car. It sounds like I'll just have to make the adjustment of not driving with my arm out the window with the understanding that the armrest will more than sufficient. Thanks again to each of you.

Lol you don't say...
I am 6'2 and 260 lbs, it was a bit weird seeing a freaking door that is higher than my shoulders but, I got used to it real fast. Comfort is perfect for me, much, much more than a c7. Not saying c7 is a horrible, terrible car that shouldn't have made... Just saying that my fat ass just isn't as comfortable in it as my camaro! |
