By the way, if it turns out that you do not like your Recaros or decide not to order them, please send me a PM. You are going to love this car.

Edit: I ordered a 2SS 1LE, not a ZL1, but same production schedule.
It's only the ZL1's that are affected. They have suspended production temporally because the Goodyear tires aren't supposed to be even 'stored' in temps of 20 F and below. extreme temps can cause the tires to develop cracks, and GM learned from the last two winters, it's best to just suspend production for a couple of months.

Other Camaro's don't have the same tires as the ZL1, so they're not affected.

Well, I plan on ordering it on the 18th and they said it would take 6-8 weeks for delivery. Guess it might take an additional 2 weeks??

I thought you might like to see what you are buying ahead of time. Enjoy your car and drive it. Let her show you what a great car she is. Find New Roads.

2014 ZL1

Waiting to put my order in for the 2014 Camaro ZL1. Trying to decide whether or not I go hard top or convertible.

The 1LE has the same POS Goodyear tires...just different sizes than the ZL1 on the rear.

I like the black rims, but the paint job is see thru. If I had to do it over again, I'd go with the polished.
I'm going to get mine painted, or dipped or something when I need new tires.

I fit fine with sunroof, I'm 5'4". To the 6'1" guy who said he fit, now put your helmet on.

I do not like the velvet on steering or shifter, glad I didn't get that.

I have NAV, Auto, Sunroof, Floormats, Cargo Mat, Car cover.

Then, as soon as I got the car, it needed rustproof, tint, soundproofing, SubWoofer (JL StealthBox), Catchcan (Moroso) and some cosmetic upgrades. So, after delivery, I spent 3,500 and haven't started performance upgrades.

As for quality, I've never seen a car this good. I'm at 10,500 and haven't been back to the dealer for anything. This is my 6th new chevy, and previously I wore out the dealers door with warranty items.

Hope you enjoy your new ZL!, I know you will.

I'm going to get the 20" machine-face rims. They cost more but TE look is sweet. Does anyone know of someone who has them and can show pics?

I checked with my dealer earlier this week and he told me they can be ordered now, and just put into production when they start building them again

Odds are what the dealer is doing is telling you is that you can place an order with the dealer now, but that the order won't be accepted by GM and placed into their ordering system for production until Feb 11.

So, I officially ordered the car today. Now, I called GM the other day and they told me there is a slight delay due to he cold up in Ontario and the whole tire issue. They told me early February. I'm fine with that as it gives me hopefully, a mid to late March arrival. Which means better weather here in the mid-Atlantic area. I did go with the CRT for color, it just "pops". I went with th 20" black machine-face rims (the black with enhanced fangs look) will really stand out. In addition, the sunroof, microfiber pkg, carbin fiber insert, Recarro seats, embroidered center console, floor console lid, and enhanced audio. Yes, fully loaded. I am so damn excited and can't wait to monitor its progress. Its my first GM product in years so from a guy with a fully loaded Toyota Tundra Crewmax that gets tons of nice comments, I can't wait to see the comments on this beast. Great forum guys! I have learned so much!
