Allocation Ratio

For every 1 Corvette sold in 2012 and 2013, how many allocations does a dealer get for 2014? Is there a formula for 2015 yet and if so, what is it?

Ordered not retail sold unless you count Chevy selling to the dealer as sold (which Chevy does).

Generally new model year allocations are based on previous model year orders, adjusted for market conditions. So a rule of thumb for the C7 would be something like this: 12K orders (from the 2012 MY) modified to expect 18K (because new model) allocations would be upgraded by half.

For the C7 demand appears to 2.5 to 3 times 2012 and there will be periodic adjustments as the model year progresses. In addition, there will be about one thousand allocations to be distributed due to about one thousand Chevy dealers will not use their allocation. (Every Chevy dealer has at least one allocation each model year but some dealers will not use theirs.) For the 2015 MY look for allocations to closely match orders for the 2014 MY.
