How hard is it to remove the factory stripes?
I am wanting to do a full 2 tone setup over the winter, as well as some pretty substantial performance mods. How hard is it to remove the stripes? Thanks in advance.

One tip. Dont do it in cold weather, if you live in a cold climate. Youll have little pieces of resin and stripe left behind if it cools off too quick. Last thing you want is to be picking at little pieces on your hood, scraping her up. Good luck!

I think the "stripe kits" are dealer installed. You may want to ask your dealer what they recommend for removal.

Easy, I left mine in the sun for about a hour then took a hair dryer and worked the edges up and they came up one piece. You have to remove the spoiler to get all the stripe but thats a 2 min job, and you can clean under there.

I pulled mine off during the summer after it was in the sun for a couple hours, came right off almost completely cleanly. I did this over this past summer and they had been on the car since 2009. The downside I have a faint ghost stripe now, i'm hoping it fades with some time. Also the clear coat was in better shaped so it still needs a good polish and buffing.

The hair dryer and dental floss is how I plan to de-badge all paint mounted logos. As far as the adhesive left over, I'm taking Yelo Maro to a paint and body shop and let the experts remove the residue and wax the area. I don't trust myself when it comes to swirl marks.
