New daily driver...

Well, my 1999 Monte Carlo Z34 was starting to crap out on me (96000 miles). There was a serious brake problem (replaced a rear caliper 4 times and the brake was still hung up (I'm metal to metal right now) and I replaced the brake hose, but it didn't fix the problem - I think it was master cylinder related), the sunroof didn't open (one of the tracks was busted), and I think there was the beginning of a coolant leak into the engine (greenish/yellowish film seen on the oil cap cover). So, I started looking around and came across a 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP. I went today to look at it and purchased it. I hopefully get to pick it up tomorrow. It's in MA, so I have to go through a couple hoops to get it registered in CT (where I live), but I've got this week off, so it's no problem. I can't wait to take pics of it! It's a black coupe with like EVERY toy imaginable (my favorite being the supercharger ). It was even elible for a 36000/3 year warranty! I'm quite excited, although I know I'll miss the Monte - it really was a nice car.

When I get pics, I'll post 'em!

Nice choice!

My brother has a 2000 GTP and it is a sweet ride! That thing really has some spunk to it! You will certainly enjoy it!

I had a REALLY difficult time finding one with the stuff I wanted (I was only interested in the 2000-2002 body styles). In a 150 mile radius from my house, there were literally only 4 black coupe GTPs!! And there were only 3 black 4-door GTPs!! I was even ready to settle for a 4-door if I had to. I called 4 dealerships and each time I called, the car was either sold or going to be sold. I finally got lucky and 105 miles away from my house was a black coupe. I picked it up yesterday. The car was owned by two ladies and is pristine under the car. I heard that the trannys in these cars (including my Monte) is pretty fragile, but luckily I purchased a warranty that covers the tranny.

I've gotta wash the car again before I can take pictures. The dealership did a nice job detailing the car, but the two hour drive home got it quite filthy.

Well, I tried to rinse as much crap off the car as possible, but there's still a film all over it (one bad thing about black cars...). Anywhoo, here's some pics of my GTP. When that first spring day hits, watch out, you'll need sunglasses due to the glare from this car

I have one just like yours, except it is a 4 door. I got it back in October. It is my DD too except in the snow. I have a Wrangler for that. I love my GTP. BTW, let's see how long it takes for you to start modding it! Enjoy!
