Center Dash Vent Rattles

Anyone else have a vibration/rattle coming from the center, dash air vent?
The plastic louvers that direct the airflow are rattling.

This happens only when driving on roads that aren't smooth.
The sound appears to come from the dash, but if I stuff a few fingers into the plastic vent louvers, the noise quits.

The car is only a month old. Anyone else experience this? And if so, anyone found a cure, other than stuffing a sponge or similar item into the vent? And, staying off rough roads!

marc0779;
I was hoping that others will have this same issue, as that means more of us will be working on a fix?

Maybe someone will even tell us that the factory has come up with a cure?

I've tried pressing it either to the left or right to eliminate the rattle, but no success so far. Maybe a drop or two of super glue in the right place????

I have the same issue on occasion. Seems to come from the center vent. I'll try the "left/right" move.

I've had the same rattle. Moving it left or right has been the only remedy..... for a while.

Update:
I had another opportunity to experience the rattle. On my car, it appears to be the bottom/lower horizontal, black plastic louver that is vibrating. By placing a finger on it, the vibration noise stops.

The dealer checked their computer, and apparently no one else has taken their C7 back in for this matter? They want me to bring mine in, so they can examine the vent. Which I'll do pretty soon, and report back here.

My car is three weeks old and it does the same thing but not every time out , just occasionally. Lucky for me I've lost some hearing in my left ear so I don't notice the rattle as much as the rest of you guys.

I have the same rattle. That little speaker grill thing on the dash. Pisses me off. I've been meaning to call the dealer, but I've been lazy.

Same here, started about half way across the US during my "delivery" drive. Wife noticed it was coming from said vent, moved it around a good bit which appears to have fixed it. No further issues for the remainder of the trip (Kansas to LA). Will see if it's an issue when I get back home to Hawaii, so jones'n to drive that car again!!!

There appears to be a fix for this?
A friend of mine recently has his center A/C vent replaced (on his C7) at the dealer, and he says that it no longer rattles. His information is below:
"
My repair order states "Replace Right Center IP Air Outlet Adjust Rattles - No Abnormal Noise After Repair" The outlet P/N is 20989582.

My service advisor has ordered me a replacement vent/outlet. I will have it installed soon.

Gabbott, I'll be taking mine in for a defective infotainment screen and will request new vents.

Update: It appears that the General has a fix for this issue:

I took my C7 into the dealer last week for the center-dash vent rattle. They replaced the vent, "Replaced Left Center Vent" (part # 20989582). Took them about three hours.

I've driven the car twice now, and no more rattle noise.

You probably will not get a call from your service advisor about this. Call and make an appointment, and have the vent replaced while its under warranty.
