Plastic Cover Center Console

So please don't make fun of me, I picked up my car about 2 weeks ago but haven't had time to drive it, only about 80 miles on it.

I have left the plastic cover on the center console screen. Have any of you left this one or will it melt if I don't remove it? Im just trying to enjoy the clean fingerprint free screen.

Took mime off right away.

Touch screen works better without it.

It won't melt. The storage this cars with all that plastic on for months. A couple more of weeks won't hurt anyone.... even though I removed mine too. Screen is more sensitive to touch without it

If left on for a very long time, I suspect the adhesive or plastic film will break down to a point that removal will be virtually impossible. I buddy of mine missed a piece of similar film on a refrigerator shelf. After a couple of years the film just crumbles where it comes off at all. The adhesive looks as if it has crystalized and is impossible to remove without solvent. I just keep a nice microfiber cloth in the console and periodically wipe off the screen.

it's a car, not the hope diamond.......take it off, carry a microfiber and clean it to your hearts content....

it's "new car syndrome" same thing exists on apple phone sites where they won't take off the plastic on the phone....

I was pulling the plastic off mine as the dealer was trying to explain all the features to me. Think I annoyed him lol!
