Aerosmith
Metallica Guns N Roses A lot of bands had one or two great songs that I liked, but these 3 have lasted through the 80s, 90s and 2000's.

AC/DC!!!!! Angus Young was interviewed once by a critic that told Angus that the last seven AC/DC albums all sound the same. Angus replied "that's a bloody lie, it's eight, not seven".

Commits weekly crime
|
Theme of this thread was 80's bands.
As much as I like some of these bands, they just don't qualify. Led Zeppelin? Considering In Through the Out Door was in 1979, nope... Pink Floyd? Most of their body of work was in the 60's and 70's. I wouldn't consider them an 80's band...The Wall was also made in 1979, and they had ONE album in the 80's. Correction...2 albums - A Momentary Lapse of Reason came out in 87, though some would argue that it wasn't truly Floyd without Waters. Was their music played in the 80's...sure. And the 90's. And the 00's. In fact, their music is timeless But they weren't 80's bands.

Such is the GENIOUS of AC/DC. The band found a sound that worked for them and that sound attracted a loyal fan base. Throughout the years, they have stayed true to their music and their fans. New styles, fads, and technology have come and gone. AC/DC has stood their ground since 1973. Thirty seven years and still selling out stadiums. World wide. Check out the stats on their latest tour. They pulled in around a half a BILLION DOLLARS. Not too shabby.
