Can you guys help me find a good DD??

okay guys, i've been driving my 2004 colorado for going on 3 years now, and the gas mileage out of the 5 cylinder just isn't where i want to be at for a dd(17-18) and i'm looking into finding a good reliable car to drive the hour drive back and forth to school next year. it needs to be reliable, automatic(the camaro's m6 is enough for me on the weekends), and get good gas mileage. new or used, throw me your opinion. these are what i've looked at so far and let me know your input and if the ones i'm looking at are worth a dern. thanks guys:

used Pontiac G6
2010 nissan altima coupe 2.5 s
chevrolet cobalt
4th gen 3.8 camaro

other than that i don't have any ideas on other vehicles, i'm mainly a chevy guy, but the new altima coupes are pure sex, and i just figured i'd ask you guys input. thanks alot!!

Get a 150cc scooter.

And a bumpersticker 'My other ride is a 5thgen' (Or your mom, which ever you prefer)

Go american please. id say the G6 is your best bet. Why not a used Fusion? My fusion 4cyl got 31mpg consistently and peaked at 34mpg on flat roads between chicago and south bend.

you can get them fairly cheap and they seem to be lasting well. and please dont tell me your only excuse is cuz its a Ford.........cuz thats just stupid when it comes to buying used cars.

For a DD I'd go with a Cobalt.

Maybe if you can find a used SS Cobalt...?

Or a normal Cobalt too, they're good looking cars.

Do you have any idea as to your price range?

G6s are good cars, cheap, fuel efficient. Also look at Malibus.

Cobalt's on its way out. Cruze will be more fuel efficient and is a better car all around.

no more than 23-24k, which is right around the base price for the nissan altima coupe. the cobalts are alright, but i'm 6'3 and have trouble sittin in them comfortably.

You can get a brand new Malibu LS for about 20K, and there is some good cash/rebates on their hoods right now.

Definitely Malibu. Either a new LS/LT model or a used 2LT/LTZ.

Or if you can wait until fall, a Cruze LT/LTZ.

Please don't take offense but "Go American"? I own two Chevys and one was built in Canada. Half the foreign cars now are built in the US and those are American jobs. I serve America and have for 25 years. Even if you are going used and it wasn't a foreign US produced car it doesn't matter because the damage is already done. My DD is a 2001 Honda Accord...it ain't sexy but I get 26 mpg and it wasn't expensive. Can't wait to feel the pain after this post.

I'm not even going to take the time to fully argue this with you.

Trace the profits. That's all I'm going to say.

I recommend the G6 ... then again I own its predecessor so I might be a little biased.
