Ready for clear bra
I really want to get a 3M clear bra put on my ZL1 as soon as possible. It literally saved my SS which was sold without a single stone ding. However, when I called my clear bra guy, he says that the car is so new that a pattern for the bra has not been put out yet. Has anyone had this done yet or know when the pattern might come out so he can load it onto his computer/plotter?

I'm having one installed next weekend...I will post pics when done. This guy is from Orange County and has his own company and has worked on everything from GTR's to Lambos and Ferrari's.

A preferred dealer vendor in my area says $800. He says he needs the car for two days to do it right. He says also that he prefers NOT to use precut patterns because he can to it with less pieces using full sheets. He says he has to make a few extra cuts for radius', but is better than multiple pieces.
He kind of bothered me when he told me NO clear bra can be put on perfect. Depending on the shop and dust conditions, he says many shops get small specs of dust, dirt caught under it and if you look close you will see some. It was like a "pre warning" not to be nitpick. But, I won't be calling him back. He was honest though, in sharing both the pros and cons. I haven't decided yet, but in South Carolina we have pretty sandy highways! = sand pits. So I might get it. |

Just had a 2LT done. Full front bumper, full hood, full front fenders, mirrors, rocker panels, lower doors. gill area, rear fenders, spoiler, door handle cups. $1600
