I think most of us would agree, a tire looks much better on a rim that is at the narrow end of the tires safe zone. We need to petition MRR for a 9"or 9.5" rim !

Either way, a 10.0" wheel is right in the middle of both tires recommended wheel width...

I don't think they rim will stick out beyond the sidewall of the tire on the 275/35's on a 10.0" rim...
Well I ran Advan V105's on the front on the same rim 275/30R20 Now Atturo AZ850's 285/35R20.

I think you can still do the 30's as that actually lowers the tire height and thus less chance to rub on the inside suspension linkage. It is right on the sidewall and bottom of the tire on the inside of the tire where I've seen the rubbing issue with the wrong offsets.

I think most of it about the 10" is 285's fit better overall for tire width, but with the wrong offset it's going to change things on the aspect.

I would have kept my V105's loved those tires, but switched because of the 555R2's on the back 305/35R20 it threw off my Traction Control, ABS, and Power Steering. Once I switched to the 285 Atturos no more Traction Control, ABS, Power Steering issue.

And yes, the 1LE stock tires is 285/30R20 and 305/30R20. So I based my maximums on that specific stat, as I don't have 6 piston, and ET 20 offset accounts for pretty much any body style up to a 1LE. If I go beyond that, I figure Spacers, wide body kits etc are going to be needed like 325+ on the back, and I read and/or heard 305 on the fronts might require some fancy footwork with Offsets or spacers.

I'm a bit confused, you said you are running 285/35's on the front without rubbing issues but you think 275/35's might rub? It is a shorter, narrower tire so not sure why it would run when you said 285/35's don't rub...

No no they won't rub, but the rim lip sticks out past the tire width.

As seen in the pictures of my car. I had 275/30R20 Advan V105's originally. Then switched to 285/35R20. (285's fit better where the tire lip is outside the rim lip.)

And maybe it depends on tire too, some tires are more narrow or wider than others.

I know the Advan V105 tires are more narrow than the 10" wide wheel rim lip. The Atturo 285/35R20's fit perfect for the 10" rim lip as the tire sits just outside the rim lip.

But what I did say was because you are using a 23 offset, you are on the maximum and minimum between wheel widths and you may rub with a 35 aspect tire but not on a 275 because a 275 is almost 1CM less wide than the 285's. A 285/35R20 tire on a 23 offset may rub because the aspect increases the tire height and may cause rubbing in that case. 285/35R20's are 27.9" diameter.

That's why I kept trying to reiterate the stock 1LE tire sizes and wheel sizes and ET values.

If you base it on the 1LE wheel/tire sizes you'll be fine, but you use a 23 offset which throws things out of balance from stock. I mean nothing is stopping you from trying the 285/35R20 on the front, but I think your offset is going to be a problem and I could be wrong, I just don't know anyone who runs a 23 offset on the fronts with wider than 285's or higher than 30 aspects.

I don't want 285/35 on the front, I am talking about 275/35 (I currently have 285/30s without rubbing issues (on a 23 offset))

I understand my MRR017's are a 23 offset where the OEM 1LE wheels are 20 offset, but we are talking 3mm or less than 1/8", in theory, by going with a 10mm narrower tire I should gain 5mm of clearance over my current setup so should end up with 2mm more gap than an OEM 1LE setup...

Here is a current short of my front Atturo 285/30, there is plenty of tire sticking out further than the rim, I think a 275/35 would look nearly the same as 10.0" rim is exactly in the center of the width recommendations, just like it is for the 285/30s...

Ok, I just went out into the garage and stuffed my hand up in there and I think I see what you are talking about... I can barely get a finger between the tire tread and the suspension, I now see how the (slightly narrow) but a fair bit taller tire could make a significant difference in rub potential on the wider, 10" rim (which has tire significantly more inboard than the OEM stock SS wheels/tires... It seems the tire would actually rub the inner tread, not the sidewall of the tire, when the suspension compresses even slightly... I think going forward, I'll just stick with the stock SS 1LE sizes of 285/30 and 305/30... I'm thinking the extra 10mm out back won't make that much of a difference and if it throws off the traction control (due to being out of tolerance) might be more of a headache than it is worth...

Perhaps a 3mm spacer would work for clearance issues. The gentleman in post #3 of this thread was running 285/35's up front and didn't have a any clearance issue other than a very slight rub at full left lock. However, I believe they were factory 1LE rims, so a 20 offset compared to MRR 23.

Indeed, that's pretty much what I was trying to say. Sometimes don't always word it right.

Is anyone here with a non-1LE SS running with the 1LE tire sizes on M017s and with 1"lowering springs? Very curious if that would be a good setup to safely offset the bigger fender gap.

I almost did that, but with the slight bit of front tire poke (even with the 23 offset of the MRR017s) I was afraid it would run the fender when the suspension compressed, so I chickened out...

I'm beginning to see that the conversion to the ILE spec on the regular SS is much more complicated than a simple swap. So I should expect some poke on the front?

I have the MRR FS06 in ZL1 spec on my car, I am not having the issue that you guys are having and I am lowered and running 295/30/20 and 315/30/20, and I have no rubbing or clearance issues,I am not near my vehicle at the moment and wont be near it for another month but I will post better pictures of my fitment for any future viewers.

I've been working with MRR to get custom sized FS06 rims in gloss black. I don't want 10" front rims, because I want to run 275/35's and don't think they would look ideal on 10".

I'm looking for a flush no poke look in the front and rear

So far I spec'd out:

Front 9.5x20 w/+20 offset for Atturo 275/35/20

Rear 11x20 w/+40 offset for Atturo 315/30/20.

Question is, do 315/30's fully clear the wiring harness with the normal +43 ?, if not, would the +40 clear it? Is there any poke with 315/+43 ?

In the front I was planning on a 9.5"+20 rim with 275/35's, but I'm worried about poke. The online calculator shows 1/8" less poke than a 10"+23 rim with a 285. Do 285+23 rims poke, and if so approximately how much ?
