True from a looks department, the capability department is a different story.. The QV smokes the 4c everywhere except maybe size. It is also cutting edge in suspension design aspects as well. It's a skunkworks kind of car secretly designed form their best engineers, and the best part it is a trickle down car meaning the lesser models are based off of the QV, not the other way around..

I'd consider a 1le as an option, motor trend has one for best drivers car competition this year. Wondering if maybe they wanted the zl1 instead, either way I'd like to se how it stacks up to this lineup considering that GM has claimed that the 1le will outperform a gt350 on the track

When did they make this claim? I know Al O said he wasnt worried about how the 1LE stacked up against the GT350, but considering equally optioned it will be a $15K difference, it could be slower and still match up very well in overall offering for the money.

I might suggest a look at an F-Type R. $$$$ are more Porsche like, but this has style and supercar performance. I have driven the 2016 S model and a 2014 Supercharged Roadster (invited event - I was told to drive it like I stole it and I did as I was told).

Guilty as charged: I like Jaguars.

Choices

I too have had wandering eyes as '17 ZL1 news is dribbled, leaked, and teased by GM. Excitement has been mitigated by seemingly drawn out reveal. Your list of <$100k cars is interesting. Having owned several Porsches, three C6 Corvettes including a Z06, I never warmed to the tail lights/rear view, crowd, of the C7. That is why I ended up with a ZL1. Performance not that far off from my Z06, and the fun factor and nostalgia priceless. While I'm first in line at my local Chevy dealer for '17 ZL1, I will honor my commitment and place order when day finally comes. In the interim, I shopped Hellcats which are now plentiful and at MSRP or below at dealers. However despite comfort and crazy motor, could not get past the heft. Flat plane crank GT350 sounded exotic, but just lacked a little grunt. Still anticipating that 10speed ZL1, but also looking forward to perusing rumored twin turbo 10speed GT500 upon arrival. In the mean time, I hope new ZL1 blows my socks off.......

My faith and patience are being tested. Even though I want a manual coupe, I can't seem to get any movement from my dealer - hoping for more info by the 6th. Otherwise, I may reconsider a Grand Sport - an awesome and amazing car on every level, but I liked the idea of a backseat for the mini car nuts.

Goal was to get the car by January-ish.
