Has there been a single news article today about this? I find it hard to believe the automotive media would just let this day go by silently.

GM killed it (6th Gen). kicked too the curb. Internally only. Some pictures and staff lunch.

Leonard,
"I'm hearing" that SS seat went to the GM Heritage Museum and not in a car.

Honestly shocked by this. We don’t even have a single photo.

Exactly. There are plenty of articles from a couple of months ago estimating the final end would come in January 2024, more recent updates that the vert would end production in November, and it did, with a shortened timeline for the coupe to be finished in December.

And then.... silence.

The automotive media isn't even going to light a candle or pour one out for our dear friend? Geez.

I blame GM for that. The media hasn’t seen anything to really show that Camaro is officially done. I mean, the only way we know is due to people internally.

Ya know, there was a very large possibility I wasn't going to buy my 2023 and I was going to wait to order a 2024... The dealer did tell me the 2024 year was short and they were allocated maybe 2 orders, but I didn't realize how short it was, and how quickly those 2 orders went.

I'm glad I pulled the trigger, as I really did want one before production ended. I was always a Camaro/Firebird guy. The thought of loosing out entirely on ever owning a brand new one.. that would have been a tough pill for me.

Sales of the Camaro spiked 110% through the second quarter of 2023 as people clamored to get one while they could. Per an recent article. That was the move to make. Ordered mine when I did, knowing it was coming too and end.

A few out now - here's R&T:

https://www.roadandtrack.com/news/a4...oduction-ends/

And the absence of farewell specifics from GM is noted:

"Unlike Chrysler's recent announcement of the end of 300C production, the brand has yet to put out an official announcement or share any details about the final Camaro to roll off the brand's Lansing assembly plant."

I was the same way. Figured, eh, not this time, or, maybe later, as the end gets closer. Then, the end got closer, and I still really wanted one. I realized "2024" didn't mean the end of the typical model year in July/August 2024 for these cars, and the order books had already closed and the last car would roll off in December 2023!

So, I located a new 2023 1SS 6-speed nearby on a dealer lot and brought it home. I've kept watch - it's the last lightly optioned 1SS 6-speed I've seen in the area. Everything rolling in for 2024 is expensive, highly optioned, and a lot of convertibles it seems like. Very, very glad, to have been able to walk-in and pay less than MSRP.

I'm also glad to see there was finally mention of the end of production. Given the chatter on some other (non-Camaro) message boards, I don't think a lot of people knew this was coming.
