No gravel roads and you wont find someone who is more obsessive about car care! The side skirts are getting pretty rough as well. I have already ask the dealer if it may be possible for GM paid re-paint of the side skirts, since driving the car seems to be sandblasting the lower areas of the car. They acted like I was crazy when I ask...Looks like emphasis was put on design and aerodynamics - sacrificing a little paint Still wouldn't take anything for the car - favorite car I have ever owned!!!

That's the right attitude! I have a small number of paint chips too. I consider them badges of honor - Tadge & crew designed the Stingray to be driven, and drive it I do - even in snow on occasion! And no matter how careful one is, either with body paint or wheel finishes, some chips and scratches are inevitable. I've even seen chips in powder coating, though admittedly not as severe as regular paint.

RE: purpleRac3r

This is getting a bit off topic for a wheel thread, but you say that you drive in light snow - what tire are you running? I drive my Vette everyday, except during bad weather. I did not worry about getting caught at work in light snow with my 2006 C6 Convertible so I was not worried about the 2014...that is until I picked it up at the dealer on a cold February day. The Goodyears on the 2006 were mud tires compared to those Michelin Super Sports!!! I am a Michelin all the way guy on all my vehicles and am having a hard time deciding going back with Super Sports or going to the A/S 3. Your Suggestions? North Western North Carolina driver. 7,800 miles on SS - probably 3-5,000 miles remaining on OEM.

Hylton, for winter I run Michelin A/S 3 non-run-flats. They are great all-around tires, and would be the perfect compliment for freshly powder-coated wheels (see, we're keeping on-topic!), especially if you don't intend to track the car. I would even run them in an occasional low-speed autocross for fun, just not serious track events. They also grip better in the rain, and ride a bit better than run-flats. I was able to get them installed at my dealer for $1200 out the door. I will very likely stick with them once the factory tires wear out.

RE: purpleRac3r

Awesome - exactly what I wanted to hear. I was wanting the AS3 - wanting the better and quieter ride but was afraid of a loss in traction. As I am sure you know, it takes only a few thousand rpm to loose the rear wheels in any weather and thats on the stickiest rubber available! Thanks for the suggestion. I will post pictures of the wheels in a few weeks. Could never find an exact match on the color so I just decided on going with factory gloss black. I will roll on black for a while and if I get tired of them I will have painted back silver. Dropping off February 23rd.

Carbon Flash Metalic powder

I really like it.... Where did ESPO's Powder coating get this color powder?

The only powder coating place I can find on Staten Island is:

Sure Coatings
805 Henderson Ave,
Staten Island, NY 10310
