6spdLs3, have you spoken with your servicing dealer to see what else may be the cause of this issue for you? I'm sorry to see you having issues with this system. I hope you are able to get as agreeable of a resolution as playr101. If you need any other assistance whether in getting the ball rolling on the issue or working with your dealership let me know and I'll do what I can for you.

Okay, got a new ecm computer installed everything looked good until I got home and the lights were flickering again! Dreading leaving my car indefinitley while they searched for the problem, I said to myself there has to be a loose ground or cut wire some where.
I started at the passenger side fuse box, tugging gently on the wire loom working my way down towards the exhaust manifold and suddenly the lights shut off! Sure enough, there's a round metal clip that holds the wire harness loom on the cylinder head near the exhaust manifold. It cut into the loom, grounding 2 wires, causing the lights to come on and off. This is a potential problem on EVERY ls3 camaro and needs to be addressed. I used electrical tape to repair the skinned wires and adjusted the metal clip. I added a small rubber pad on the clip so it could not harm the harness anymore. I think I just saved alot of headaches right here Took some photos but it was dark. I will be contacting GM/ Chevrolet about this problem. Photo 1 shows the clip on the passenger front Photo 2 shows the clip opened up with the metal that damaged the wire circled in red. Photo 3 shows the damaged loom covering Photo 4 shows the damaged wires that were grounding on the clip - white and green Last edited by 6spdLs3; 07-15-2011 at 10:30 PM. Reason: Add info |

Thanks guys, what's nutty is that this clip can affect almost any component of the electrical system, depending on which wire in the loom gets nicked and grounded.

Any Luck? Mine also solved a problem I was having with my cooling fans constantly turning on and off and my compass always being incorrect upon startup. I didnt even realize until a week or two passed and the car wasnt having these issues anymore. I've never had a problem since.
Good Luck |

reverse lights always on
I had the same problem with my 2011 SS. The back up sensors would beep when stopping at a light and a car came up behind me. Turns out there is a switch on the transmission that was stuck on which turns on the back up lights and activates the back up sensor system. The dealer fixed it but had to order the part and it took 2 days. Car is fine now!
