New Camaro Lease, First Impression, Wheel?
Hope everyone is doing well! I'm happy to be back as I had a 2010 1LS Camaro Black with Black Heritage Wheels that I sold for a 2011 Volt lease. Well my lease was running out and stopped by my local dealer with no intention to make a purchase, but ended up getting a new 2014 Camaro 1LT with the BA stereo!
Curious to see how you all think I made out with a 2 year lease with 12k/year for just under $300. Credit >800, had to negotiate down from $350/month. Either way definitely a nice change. First major impression was where the hell is the CD player lol. Loaded my Britney CD on a USB and working well (yes, Britney Spears... I must confess). On another note, after coming home in freezing temps and snow I also noticed something odd with each wheel. One lugnut? protrudes from each wheel. I will try to upload a picture. Also was bummed that the dealership attached the front plate, but will live with it. Glad to be back and looking forward to the next gen Volt and Camaro. Flicked from my BlackBerry 10 smartphone |

You appear to have LOCKING LUGNUTS on your wheels. Usually, the "key" would be in the glovebox, center console or trunk. A socket fits on the "key" and acts as an anti-theft device to keep someone from stealing your wheels. Congrats on the '14 Camaro, yeah, no CD player anymore.

Thanks for the response, makes sense but does appear a little awkward. The CD player is going to take some getting used to, wasn't even expecting that one! Also forgot to mention that I ended up putting 2k down.

Better find that locking lug "key" before you really need it.

Does anybody ever really use their CD players anymore? In the 3 years I had my 2010 I never used it.

Same here. No idea if it even works! High quality mp3 is just so much easier to deal with.
I'm going out of my way to replace my factory 2011 head unit that has the CD slot with the MyLink that doesn't. Color screen and backup camera is a must. Had the Metra with a Pioneer head unit for over a year but it never looked like it belonged in the car. And the Metra backlight started lighting intermittently just as the warranty was expiring. |

Haven't even tried to use it. Usually on XM or iPod.

lol, you guys are nuts! I'm a little lost without the CD player. Definitely understand they'll be gone before we know it, but was literally sitting in the parking lot for a good ten minutes searching for where to put my CD.
Any thoughts on the lease deal of 2k down, 2 years, 12k/year, 299/month, NJ (1LT with Boston Acoustics, MSRP of $27,345)? Just curious if I was a bit impulsive and should have shopped around more. One dealership did quote me $283/month for a 1LS. I don't mind negative comments if you think not much of a deal lol. I thought it seemed reasonable. Also, there is a key in the glovebox for the wheels so that is good. I'm going to assume that was dealer installed and you would think they would have given me the originals, but not quite sure how that works. Thanks for the feedback! |

If you really don't want or need them, you can put the factory lug nut back on. Quote:
Most people have some sort of MP3 player option. Yes, find the "key" before you need it. If you can't find it in the car, ask the dealer about it. Someone added those locking lug nuts after it left the factory. Quote:
With the USB port, it has full iPod integration.

Britney CD + Blackberry "smartphone" - no wonder you couldn't identify the wheel locks.
just kidding but not really
