2014 Allocation
While inquiring about an on the lot C7... the dealer told me they had one more allocation... is this BS? Everywhere I've read is that ordering is done for 2014 and that a lot of orders may be pushed to 2015. However, he is assuring me that they have one allocation left because they had an order cancelled on them and GM is giving them one more. Does this sound fishy?

Sounds feasible. June 12 is the last date for using 2014 allocations.
Laborsmith Not last date but last consensus which starts June 12. Last edited by laborsmith; 06-09-2014 at 06:04 PM. Reason: Add last sentence. |

I've been at 1100 since March 6th, does this mean if my dealer doesn't get a 2014 allocation by this Thursday then I will have to place a new order and wait for a 2015 allocation?

Looks like I got in at the last minute. My dealer called tonight and said he received an allocation today for my car and I am now at 2000 with a tpw of 7/7. I'm thrilled to get my order but at the same time a little dissapointed because I had adjusted my thinking to not getting a 2014 and was looking forward to picking up a few changes that are coming out on the 15 model. Not sure if it's worth cancelling and starting over or not.

Great news! You got in on the last 2014 model year consensus! How cool is that?

Real cool, I'm getting excited again about getting a car. Pretty much have dropped the idea of cancelling and waiting for a 2015. One 2015 option that you can get on the 14 model is the z51 appearence package but I will skip since the wheels are painted and not chrome. However I would like to know what WA8 (clear protective film) consist's of and if it is available on the 14. Does it provide protection from road rash? If so at what points on the car? If it's available as a 15 option on a 14 car I would probably go for that. Also there is VTB, a rear fascia protector

The protective film is like Xpel I'm sure. I don't know where it would be applied, but expect places like front fascia, partial hood, side mirrors. Coverage might be questional. As for the appearance package, all the pieces are available individually from the parts counter. I have the rear fascia protector. Its embroidered vinyl and flips out when you need it. However, there are no instructions for how or where it attaches, and nothing makes sense. I ended up modifying mine a little to work.

Somehow my high volume dealer managed to sneak in my late order 2014 1LT 7 speed on Saturday 6/13. Do I have to worry that it won't be produced? I gather he did have remaining allocation. |

Last night a dealer told me that sometimes all dealers don't put in their allocations and Chevy may accept the order. So they put in an order for me, right now its at 1100. The deal is if the order gets to 2000 I will give them a deposit. Am I making a mistake?
