Z/28

May car & driver says the last 1000 or less Camaros of the line will be 2025 z/28's. I hope they sit at the dealerships like the last one. I might could afford one then.

My guess, the last ones will be z/28's and they will be called 2025 models .

According to GM's press release, the last 6th Gen Camaros will be coming off the assembly line in January of 2024. There will be no 2025's and no Z/28's. I'll believe a rep from GM before some goof writing an article in Car and Driver that has no clue what's truly going on..

A true Z/28 would require tons of R&D and that's something GM is not doing with the Camaro anymore, because its over. Look how much has changed since 2016, really nothing (cosmetics aside). If there were anything by chance, it'd probably be a 1LE with badges and different wheels.

This!

With GM clearly announcing that production will end by Jan 2024, MY25 isnt going to happen. If there is a Z/28, GM would have included that in the previous press release.

It is in May issue of c&d. 25 cars worth waiting for. They have a picture. Maybe wishful thinking on their part. Estimated arrival,: production will end in 2024 and z/28's will be last off the line , with deliverys starting next fall.

They did make a gen 4 Z28, but it was for the most part a badge and well under the flagship SS. That would fit well with GM's style of sunseting the Camaro again, like the Z4C. Common sense would say the last Z/28 came off the line in 2015, and C&D mixed up heritage model with Z/28, which tells you how much they are paying attention.

Well, technically they introduced the ZL1 in 2017 and then the ZL1 1LE in 2018, but you're right in that nothing substantial was done past this initial "thrust", that is, after 2018.

If this were to happen (big if) and if they weren't just dressed up SS 1LEs, they would definitely be worth a look.

Perhaps a 6.2, but with some tweaks to get it above 500 hp and some nice 1LE tidbits thrown in like wheels, eDiff and all the nice coolers....add some Z28 badging and you have a potential collectors item.
