Well:

1. Excellent C8 effort.

2. Not sold on looks--looks rear-heavy like a Pear.

3. Small inside and not really a substitute for the ZL1.

4. "Real" C8 variants (Z06, ZR1), once loaded up, will be $125k-$175k+; certainly a different price point than a ZL1 and steep for a GM product. The loaded up C8 Base, in 3LT with options is at or over $100k.

The ZL1, on the other hand, is just a world class, iconic car in its segment. Now bring on the LT5 for the ZL1!

I wouldn't call anyone who can afford any of these cars "poor". Not really. Especially since these are not necessities. Even the base V6 or 4cyl options. A "poor" person would probably have a smart car or a used older car like a Honda or Nissan Sentra or lease a base model Kia for $99/month or something. When I was "poor" I couldn't even afford that. I had to go to "Buy Here Pay Here" places, lol!!

I like the design and interior, but it looks all wrong in base form with the tucked in wheels and fender gap.

I sure hope the performance variants look more like the SS 1LE, as the fender and wheel gap are both very minimal by comparison.

on #3 it is not small, its much bigger than my C7Z and my ZLE as for cockpit space. I was told by a good source since I purchase a lot of GM products that the cost difference may be 8500-15k over prior models Z but they cant release anything to me... lol Either way I have an allocation in for a Vert and on the list for the Z when they release

Car and driver released a review and compared it to a comparable C7. I'd say read it as they do this kind of comparison.

Seems the C7 had a better stopping and lateral grip than the C8.

Cool if that's what you like, it just seems like the mystique of the Corvette is gone. Don't get me wrong its a beautiful car just would have called it something else.

The C8 is very promising. I'll likely be waiting for the Z versions before moving on one though. The looks on the base model remind me of a standard C7...too weak looking for me. Not enough tire, not enough flare, not enough "ground effect". Just sits a little tall and awkward; and it does look a little "fat" in comparison to the beautiful Italian cars such as 488s and 458s.

We will not be practicing any ADM of any kind. That is purely ridiculous. Unfortunately, I've filled all of my allocation and have a few on the waitlist. From what I've heard at the meetings, that is the case for most stores around here.

I wonder how many are pulling out of their deposits because of some of the negative aspects of the reviews. I do hope they get the balance right like other manufacturers were able to do. For most people who don't track, or track much it's good but come on GM get it right. This is thee car to make or break you.

Can’t wait to see the higher HP models of the C8.
I don’t take Camissa reviews seriously. He is A Ford fan boy. Even though the ZL1 was better everywhere he slammed it and chose the GT350 in a comparison. Although he is praising the C7 Vette in this article his previous reviews were negative.

LOL......a mid engine car for sub 70K that does 0-60 in less than 3 seconds. Ugh....GM really needs to get their shhh together if they think this is an acceptable offering. Ridiculous and unforgivable, I agree.

There are plenty of positive reviews too.

After seeing the released review of the C8 Z51 which looked very disappointing for a ME, DCT, better tech sport car. The 6th gen Camaro ZL1 continues to be the best engineered sport car from GM. Great powerplant with a stupendous Alpha platform and ELSD system. A better toy for spirited or track driving. The best Muscle car until now.

Camissa is not a Ford fan, he loves the 6th gen Camaros and the C7 GS, just read his MT reviews or H2H videos
