Be excited when you talk about your car and people feed off that. Don't be the "Corvette Snob".
Wash and dry like normal before you go. Once you get there, LOTS of micro fiber towels and quick detailer. I use Turtle Wax ICE Quick Detailer. Do 1/4 of the car, fold and use clean side next. Run out of clean sides, use another micro fiber. Micro fiber... one time use! Wash them and relegate them to rim duty or as dust rags in the house. Hood open or closed doesn't matter on Vettes. I keep windows up, top on, and doors locked cuz too many douchebags like to hang over your leather seats with an ash on the end of their cigarettes, or open your doors or throw trash in your car. NEVER LEAVE YOUR CAR UNATTENDED!

using quik detailer on a dry car after it's got some dirt on it is asking for trouble long term..you can scratch pretty badly. Substitute Waterless or Rinselss formulations - Turtle wax, Meguires and Duragloss are 3 good ones...Mx em up 2 oz to a windex bottle - far more lubricity and does not scratch...pre soak the microfiber in a zip bag before you need it...
you'd actually be better to do a total rinseless wash when you get there.... |

I've always had good luck using Adam's Waterless Wash and their special blue towels. It's good stuff. :-) plus I believe it's even sponsored by GM now.
