BlacLac02, I also do some detailing on the side as a result on people seeing my black SS.

I was fortunate to be able to order the SS, and I asked the dealer not to touch the exterior. I've tried several different waxes/polishes, and for me, Zaino works best. I've learned all the tips/methods for keepin the SS looking new. (And it doesn't hurt that it's not my daily driver.)

You guys are right, black is the best but it's so darn tough to keep clean. I use the orbital buffer w/ Mothers Stage 1 polish, Stage 2 wax, and then the FX Synwax. Yes, it takes all day (and a bunch of polishing cloths!). But, the results are phenomenal! I love the reflection in the black paint. You just can't beat it.

i just spent all day yesterday detailing my escalade. i did a 3 step wax to it. --washed it
-used claybar to remove dirt and any thing in the paint
-clear coat compound applied by hand to brighten paint and remove light swirl marks and scratches
- then light coat of wax by hand to seal everything in.
i had to stop after the clay bar and then start back up again doing the clear compound and then take a break and then do the wax which happened to be the shortest thing to do and easiest. it probably took me 4 hours but it looks brand new now. its all worth it to me. anything smaller than a escalade is easy to detail for me. so this camaro should be a piece of cake

Yeah, it does give a better representation on the wheel size. Just keep the ugly rims as far away as possible from this awesome car. Those look like those dodge truck rims. ugh...

Bigger they get, the more you pay for the tires. But, they look a hell of a lot better. Guess it's an okay trade off.

nothing can really be more expensive than my last set of tires. i paid 1800 for some pirelli's for my escalade 315/ 35/ 24. i went the cheap way after those wore out after 12,000 miles. got myself some wanli's for 1000. on my old t/a i paid 700 for bfgoodrich tires. it had the same size as the c5 z06

Ouch. That's way too much for me for tires. I wanted the nice ones for my SS but all the tires I found were $800 to $900 for the Z rated. Well, after doing a little research, I found the Sumitomo HTR+ and only paid $500 for all 4 Z rated tires. That was a good deal. You can't beat Discount tire.

Very nice. Next time I need tires, I'll give ebay a shot. I've looked for rims b4 but never for tires.
