Kind of seems unfair that Kerbeck has over 50 corvettes in stock with another 100 coming in with many z51's and we can't get beyond status 1100 since the first of December because we want to promote the local dealer that we have dealt with for over 30 years. GM better get it's act together or lose many customers down the road.

This is an often seen complaint, particularly on Corvette forums but not limited to Corvette or even GM. The last time I recall it being as common was in 2004-5, which was when the previous generation Corvette started rolling off the assembly line. The allocation system in its present form is designed to meet individual state franchise laws AND conform to requirements outlined in civil complaint court decisions. I personally have devoted an inordinate amount of time to come up with a system that meets local dealer customer desires while meeting legal demands without success. The biggest problem is the so-called "ghost" buyer, who exists, often is a dealer employee or a close associate of a dealer employee, and who orders with no intention of actually buying.

This is not the thread for this discussion so if anyone wants to continue this discussion please start a thread for that purpose. I know I will not respond to this question in this thread again and hope no reader expects me to.

I've read earlier posts about dealers taking your deposit without having any allocations and that seems to be my case. I gave them 1000. with the understanding that they had two allocations available and that I would get one of them. Can't really complain however at this point because they gave me a nice deal below MSRP. Thanks for your help
