I think the two tone paint job is pretty neat as it is, and has a bit of class. I dared to be different, and had no stripes on my rally yellow Camaro.

Gaaaahhh. Got sick of waiting patiently for the DVLA to send my registration docs so gave them a call to chase up.....sorry sir, we have returned your documents to you as our records show you have not completed a Notification of vehicle arrival in the UK.......I bloody well have. Quick call to HMRC. Oh yes sir you did complete the NOVA but we requested that you send us a copy of your purchase invoice.......I bloody well did, I emailed it to you 2 weeks ago. Oh yes, so you did, sorry about that.
But too late DVLA already sent my docs back to me. So back to square one!!!!!
Incompetent arses!
Will I ever get this car on the road???

That just about sums up the incompetence of our government departments; they just don't give a f***. Disgraceful.

A very angry phone call to the HMRC personal transport unit today and was told they cannot complete my notification until I provide them with the date the car was first registered. How am I supposed to know that? I asked. It was first reg in the US and I dont have any of the original documents!! Best I can say is the year of manufacture. Well if you cant provide a date we may have to charge you VAT on the vehicle. Even though it is clearly several years old and imported from the EU so no VAT should be payable. Apparently its a case of 'computer says no' if no date is given.
Another 3 phone calls later and someone with some common sense accepts that an IVA certificate with the year of manufacture on it is proof enough of when it was made (really?) like they couldnt have worked that out from the chasis number!!
