IMHO and also owing a 010 zr1----I really didn't need to throw in the fact that I also have a ZR one. However in my opinion you have a 460 hp Corvette Weighing about three 400 pounds less versus a 580 hp Camaro. Given that the performance is going to be about the same and the price of course is about the same. I would NEVER buy a vette with less power than a camaro. Eventually BM will realize it made a big mistake. There are many reasons to opt for the Corvette and I think GM is banking on the looks to sell the new Corvette. To me it makes no sense to own a what I would consider "underpowered" Corvette in this day and age. Into years the story is going to change when they bring out the new ZR one but for now unless you gotta have a vette the best of all worlds is the zl1 IMHO---so flame me gently I have to say it again "WHY ONLY 460hp!! ??? At least use the z06 base engine For now when I see a new vette the only thing I will do is give the driver a self satisfied smile and a thumbs up

It may have only 460 HP, but supposedly is a 12.0 or better car in the quarter and outruns the ZL1 on a track for less or equal $. I think Chevy has a winner and won't have any problem selling all they can build and I think the C7 will definately take a bite out of ZL1 sales.

The waiting list was too long down here in SoFL when I was shopping... But I think the ZL1 was a good decision.
I may have to get the wife one in a couple of years though.

If I had a ZL1 I would keep it and add a new Vette but not until a forced induction version comes out. I currently own two C6's, both convertibles (06 and 13 427), and one of those will probably get replaced with a C7.

On the same time I can't stop thinking about the slick, all aluminum frame C7 Stingray... But I think I just made up my mind will go for the C7. lighter, smaller, faster, the sky is the limit :-) Wish you all the best |

I just recieved my new 14 ZL1 on 9/16 and I stopped by the dealership to speak with them, and doesnt a truck pull in with 4 new C7's on it. also there was a new C7 in the lot ready to be picked up so I go outside to look at it, and now I am confused if I made the right choice. The dealer tells me they will take my ZL1 back for nearly equal money and I can order a C7. what to do?? So first question is the C7 a baseline Vette?. I thought I read someone say it was, I do understand there are several models, and I would be getting the Z51 loaded one? is that the best one?.
